BlackZeroDC
I apologize if this is a duplicate topic, but I couldn't find anything related to it. Also, not sure if this should go in Mod Troubleshooting or not. Anyway, I decided to try out the FWE mod. Problem is, after installing all of components of it, my game now freezes on startup. No CTD problems, only freezing. I don't get a cursor, and the main menu doesn't appear, though the music plays and the little slides move until the power armor picture shows up. Don't really know what to do about it. It doesn't happen when I uncheck all of the FWE related mods (but leave the few other mods active), so I don't know if this is a problem my game has with that, if it just freezes up trying to load everything or what. If it helps any, my computer specs are as follows: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50GHz 2.40 GHzInstalled Memory (RAM): 3.00 GBSystem type: 32-bit Operating System (Windows 7)Display Adapters: 2 NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT Any input would be greatly appreciated. Fallout 3 is a great game, but I swear at it about as much as I swear by it...
proconsu1
First impression - you either do not have FOSE installed or you are not launching it properly and are using the default FO3 launcher instead. Of course that first impression may be completely wrong, but it jumped out at me so I had to let it have a shot at jumping at you. FWE, like most big overhaul mods, requires that FOSE (Fallout Script Extender) be installed and running. When installed the FOSE needs to be loaded INSTEAD OF the Fallout3 launcher. FOSE will automatically launch FO3 itself, assuming you installed it correctly. OK, that gets that first impression thing outta the way. Now to biz. We need your load order. You should get and install FOMM (Fallout Mod Manager), a very essential tool for anyone who runs FO3 with multiple mods. I won't go into all the things you can (and should!) use it for, but if you like you can look at some of my recent postings to others and prolly find two or three long screeds where I go into it ad nauseam. For right now what you want it for is to take a look at your load order and to export that load order to a text file, the contents of which you can then cut and paste into this thread. proconsu1
I don't see a merged patch there. You are running four different FOIP overhaul mods and what looks like about a half dozen smaller mods - you definitely need a merged patch. The optimum solution for you would be to make a bashed patch using WryeFlash, since you seem pretty conversant otherwise. If my impression is wrong or you just don't wanna go to that much trouble, then you should get and use FO3edit to make a more generic merged patch, but your odds of success are lower that route (but still better than a kick in the nads). proconsu1
No prob at all. I ain't gonna celebrate yet, though. That is partly cuz I don't wanna jinx you and partly cuz lack of a merged patch doesn't usually stop the game from reaching the menu screen. But the making of the merged patch may very well reveal a different problem that we can fix. Crossing fingers. :ermm: Edited March 4, 2011 by proconsu1
