MyFO3 won't start - crashes right away

Hello!

 

I just bought the game and I'm still trying to learn this modding community and what things like FOMM, FOMOD, FOOK and stuff mean... =p

 

So, I bought the Year of the game edition and installed the game and all 5 add-on packs. Played a while and then tried Mart's mutants mod succesfully. Now I tried to try FOOK2 with it but after messing the installation somehow the game won't start anymore. It just crashes after the first 1 or 2 loading slides.

 

archinvalidaattor, FOMM and MMM worked.

 

But adding FOOK2 1.1 beta2 or something and FOSE I can't even start the Fallou3 without any mods.

Take a look at this recent posting. It doesn't deal with your particular issue, but my first post in this thread was an answer (at length!) to your questions about what tools to use and how to set up your mods to minimize the chances of trouble. Check it out then post back here with more questions, cuz you'll definitely have some.

Thanks! That novel was filled with precious and clearly written info although I didn't find the characters likeable. :tongue: I should have read that few days ago...

 

I realised that I had the wrong FOMOD for the Darn UI! Instructions told me to get the dui_f3a11.zip file or _newer_, so I looked around and found dui_f3a92.zip without realising that they were actually 0.11.0 and 0.9.2...

 

Now I got the game to load, but couldn't continue my old savegame. Starting a new game succeeded. I'll look into it more and come back with more/other problems. :laugh:

I don't see hallucinations in the Vault 106. Is there a known bug in the game or mods or could it be my character that's too dull to see hallucinations. Like if she's got good enough perception she'd realise them as imaginary stuff?

 

Should this be in a new thread?

 

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently this is what happened to me:

 

"If you pull back very quickly when the drug first begins to affect you, the purple tint may disappear and there will be no drug effects, negating a good deal of the action on the level. If you move forward again, the purple does not return"
