Staff BigBizkit Posted August 5, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 5, 2015 Quick question related to a mod I'm making: does disabling e.g. bandit/draugr corpses prevent them from respawning? example: Bandit cave with 5 bandits. I go in and kill them. Now I click their corpses and disable those via console.THree or so days later (Skyrim respawn time) I come back to that cave. Will it be empty (because the bandits are still disabled), or will there be 5 new bandits?
Boombro
No, this will disable that very same corpse, bandits are random spawns.I guess you want an area that won't respawn enemies, and disable dead bodies that the players kills them?
Staff BigBizkit Posted August 5, 2015 Author Staff Share Posted August 5, 2015 No, I want to disable slain enemies via script and I was worried that this might prevent them from respawning, essentially depopulating Skyrim's crypts/bandit caves for good. Boombro
The only way that I know how that is done is by editing all caves, tombs and camps zones to no reset by clicking on a check box.A lot of work, but no need for writing scripts or adding them into any save game. I'm not sure that there is a way to do it via script, but I'm not an export in that area and I have not seen this in any mod before.
Staff BigBizkit Posted August 5, 2015 Author Staff Share Posted August 5, 2015 I can think of a variety of ways to do this via script, but that is not the point. You seem certain though that disabling the corpses won't prevent respawns which is important to me.
Boombro
You can wait three days outside a cave after a clear if you don't trust my statement, which is understandable.I can test for you if you are away from your pc if you want.

In fact, I am away, that is why I am asking. That would be real nice of you. I don't distrust your statement, I just was not exactly sure if you and I were understanding each other. Boombro
Sorry it took long, wifi needed more than an hour then i needed sleep.I was unable to test properly, some bandits can't be disabled. You will have to test with another method. Maybe a spell with a disable script.
