It should run it just fine, it's the windows part that's concerning me. csgators
Looks nice, I didn't have any problems running Oblivion in Windows 7 64. If something doesn't work just run the file "as administrator" or set the compatibility to always do so. It only seems to be a problem with older software (Morrowind required it to do anything). AurianaValoria1
I run Oblivion on Windows 7, and it works fine for me. I think the game can have the same "problem" with 7 as Vista, meaning it is a good idea to install the game into a custom directory rather than the default "Program Files," especially if you plan on adding mods. Something to do with the new, tightened security and "administrator rights." Like I said, I run Oblivion on 7 and with the game in a custom directory, and I've had absolutely no problems. I even run OBMM and OBSE, and there are no malfunctions there, either. Your specs aren't that much different than mine. I think Oblivion will run just fine on your new PC. Have fun! :D
WizardOfAtlantis
I've had a noticeable improvement boost since I installed windows 7 on my machine (flip-side partitioned of a Mac Pro) so that it can use its hardware to full capacity. Haven't had any real problems, once I set up a games folder in C:, outside of the program files, for my installs and most importantly Steam. I'm coming to like Windows 7, actually. Once you get your stuff up and running in the right directories, and maybe get some 4gb loaders going, I think you'll be pleased, Pushkatu. Fonger
Push - just install EVERYTHING outside of program files /program files (x86) and you will be golden.Pay particular attention to where games installand extra particular attention to where steam installs. after that - you'll find Win7 to be nice - very nice

Your new computer will serve you well, just don't put your games into program files. Hope you love it.
Pushkatu
Many thanks for the quick responses guys, much apreciated. I never install games on the same partition where I have my windows installed. Even when I had Windows XP I never installed any games by default. I'll let you know how it works once I get my PC and install the game. Many thanks once again. Cheers and beers,Pushkatu
Illiad86
nice setup, love the case :) Ya shouldn't have a problem with games on Windows 7. My boyfriend actually installs all of his games by default and has never run into a problem with playing them. Oblivion I'm not sure though, he doesn't play it. But he hasn't had a problem with Fallout: New Vegas, Diablo II, or TF2  He keeps UAC off though. Have fun :D

Have fun :D Slightly off topic; the reason your boyfriend has no problems with default locations is that he keeps UAC turned off! This is fine. UAC, however, does provide some rather excellent protections against many forms of malware! Consequently, the continued advice to install games to somewhere other than program files and leave UAC turned on.
