cc135691
Hi, i can use some help. I did a couple fresh installs of the game into the default program files and then my games folder like some people on this site had said to do and it fixed nothing. i have a hand full of mods installed including the 19th and 20th century weapons mod, the light saber mod. Brisa and others and the game as soon as you get on the main menu load screen begins to act up and make this bad buzzy glitchy sound and durring game play it continues particularly during a conversation. then when you walk or run, or even move around in general it makes the game stutter, sometimes quite bad, accompanying the noise that continues along with it. before the last reinstall i just performed my save files had become corrupt as a result and upon starting the game from your last save file, you could not fast travel or open a door without the game crashing to the desktop. that issue seems to be resolved at present, but the glitching and stuttering are still present. only maybe not as bad yet as they had been before. On a performance note. I'm using a nvidia gtx 295 graphics card, backed by a core i7 920 processor. both of which are more than enough to run the game smoothly i've been told. proconsu1
Glitchy sound at the menu screen is often due to bad codecs installed on your system. You might try downloading and installing this codec pack, which will also remove bad codecs as it installs more compliant ones. For stuttering during the game, install FOSE and then the Fallout Stutter Remover. Let us know if that fixes you up.
Gnubee
Since you are running an i7 chip, which has multiple cores, use the .ini tweak that reduces the number of core affinities. The people at Bethesda told me that FO3 was designed to operate with only a single core, and FNV with 2. Once I changed the affinities my game got much more stable. Make sure your sound card drivers are up to date, too. The sound glitching stuff happens to me every now and then, but a restart of the game seems to help. I also suggest that you try CASM so you don't lose lots of play time. One other thing that seems to have helped me is to increase the size of the virtual memory on your machine. Set the upper limit to be at least 1.5 times your RAM.
