things in TES4 that scare/startle you

There was that time during a dark brotherhood quest :ph34r: (poison the warlord) when i was nearly at his medicine closet. when i heard someone talking to someone else,i look around and nothing, then i saw it, very edge of the screen, a blurry shape moves, then an arrow flew out of nowhere just missing me and i realised what it was, a hedge mage that had followed me :ohmy: . how the heel did he get there?

Don't the mercenaries that Roderick hires count as Marauders in thier faction? I need to look that up in the CS.

 

Anyway this is sort of a stupid scare, but I became a member of the thieves guild after becoming the Arena grand champion. So I was looting armor stores, when the Annoying fan decides to spawn right as i'm about to loot some shiny things. I suddenly hear "Hey take whatever you wan-". Thats as far as he got, because I turned around and slashed him in two with my Blade of Woe before he said more, fearing he was the shopkeeper.

This isn't just a "One-time-Moment".. But this is something that always gives me the creeps..

 

When you are traveling out in the forests in the night, dark, trees, grass and bushes everywere, barly can't see 3 meters infront of you.

And as you walk/run there.. you hear the fight music start.. you figure something sees you.. you get up to a higher point to see better and to make sure te creature doesnt make a attack from behind.. but when you are up there (still hearing the music) you can't se ANYTHING! and you know that something is out there.. and no idea running.. cause moste creatures are faster/as fast as you are, so you jummp down and start waiting for it.. waiting, waiting, waiting.. looking around to avoid him comming from behind, and of course when you look at one way the creature comes from the other EXATLY when you turn around.. so your first look at it is its sharp theet, its big claws, or evil grin...

 

This keeps you on the edge every time.. and especially if you are playing in a dark room with only your screen giving light, when the creature attack.. Can't remember how many times i have fallen backwards...

This is moments i hate.. therefor i avoid travaling at night.. scary stuff..

Finding random Oblivion gates out in the middle of nowhere scares me. Especially how the sky all of a sudden turns red. :(

THE FAN! OH NO! ANYTHING BUT THAT! NOOOOOOOOOO!

 

One time, however, I had the cursed Adoring Fan following me. I decided to test his loyalty to me by taking him into the relm of Oblivion...of course he died ;D . That's not the funny part, though. The funny part is what happened after. I was sneaking through an aylied ruin silently cutting down the opposision with my bow, when I saw a torch light comming from behind. At first I thought Oh no! I've been spotted but then I realised... wait a minute...I don't hear any ominous music nor do I feel the sting of a weapon in my backside.... I turned around..."AHHHHHH!" I ran down the hall as fast as I could. It was HIM! It was the Adoring Fan! But...but...I SAW HIM DEAD! I saw...him dead...I... [real life] I fell out of my chair I was so scared. [/real life]. It was quite funny...not for me though :P .

my worst scare ever you say? well i was walking through some aleid (sp?) ruin and ive got screen blur because ive been hit, i turned around and a dread zombie was looking at me straight in the eyes with its evil looking tongue hanging out *shivers*. from that day forth i always carry a paralyse spell with me... ive also had another very bad scare but it wasnt in oblivion - it was in dark messiah - i was walking in these caves near a cliff and i got damaged turned around and had a face full of spider!

that really isn't a problem for me, i've replaced all the vanilla fight music with some heavy metal, so when something decides to attack me i get psyched and ready to kick some a**. it helps to get the anger built up so you can eliminate the threat with extreme prejudice

The time I got most scared was at the beggining of the game,

 

The room where the zombie is chasing the rats in the tutorial area. When the rats came past me I started to chase and attack them. After I'd finished the last one off, I turned around and...there was this rotting face staring at me, with it's features twisted in pain and hate (they did a good job on the artwork there). It gave me a good smacking too.

 

Took me about a minute to recover.

Try playing OOO with adenline + hard mode. That keeps me up at night ;)

I don't remember if its as bad in oblivion as it was in morrowind; thunder. Man that stuff was loud. Not so much as a bad scare but more of a fright. Also the spider daedra. You need to get in there bloody fast before they get a chance to summon the little paralyze-happy- spiderlings.
