JLead
Just curious, since I've seen mods that replace Witcher Gear with the other models of Witcher Gear, is there a way to do the same for swords? To be honest, I'm not too worried about the swords so much as the scabbards. It's always an eyesore when I have a sword in a scabbard that's a bright, ostentatious color in contrast with the Gear I'm wearing at that time (this is particularly a problem with the Griffin Swords, for example, with their bright gold trim and wrapping,) so what I'm trying to do is replace the scabbards on the swords I most often use in a playthrough with scabbards from a different swords that do not contrast with my gear of choice (probably brown or black with without gold colored trim.) Are the scabbards separate files from the swords, or do they both come in the same file? Even better would be a way to edit textures to my liking, but from what I can tell, that's a little difficult without the REDkit...
theoverchargedbyson
Replacing swords and scabbards? Easy.Check out my Geralt's Trailer Appearance mod (there in my signature).I replaced swords and scabbards there. A specific xml is responsible for controlling models used by each and every sword. The scabbards are also specified there. Retexturing? No way yet.Maybe after RedKit's release. JLead
<bound_items> is the line, if I'm not mistaken? One problem, and I'm not sure if I did something wrong while unpacking the patch.bundle; All the files have a w2mesh or w2ent extention...no xml files. Clearly I goofed something up. Any pointers? EDIT: Nevermind. I think I found it. EDIT 2: The Editing; Well, now I've switched around a few things (JUST the scabbards for three or so swords) but now when I start up, half my inventory is missing. When I repackaged the mymod into the new patch.bundle, it said that a number of files were bigger than they were, so I had quickbms skip those files because I think I saw it mentioned that bigger file sizes can mess up the patch.bundle and the game won't start. Would it be better to force the changes, instead? Edited August 10, 2015 by JLead
