Endless Crashes

I've just about had it with this game, every save-game I have crashes either after loading or before, and I haven't the foggiest Idea why this is happening. Oblivion has worked fine in the past so I'm starting to think this is a mod problem.

 

I'm running Windows 7 64bit with a Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 and 4GB of ram. My Steam folder is installed outside of 'program flies' so I know that's not the problem.

Thats the thing, I HAVE run BOSS and it doesn't seem to be helping.

"ERROR FESTIVAL" is a much better name than "Endless Crashes". You can thank the FFXIV beta for that one.

 

If you think it's a mod problem, the simplest thing to do is to just deactivate mods one by one until the problem stops.

The first thing I would do is to check and double check your Bashed Patch, and make sure that you only have areas checked that are valid, ie. do not check anything that is not installed, and disable all tweaks and globals while troubleshooting. Here is my canned answer for building a Bashed Patch:

 

 

 

When you press 'Rebuild Patch', make sure that you check the following:

 

Merge Patches

Import ... [Go through each 'import' option and if there's a mod, not csv in the right window, check it, and the Import... option.]

Cobl Catalogs [ONLY if you use Cobl]

Contents Checker

Leveled Lists

Race Records

SEWorld Tests [ONLY if you have Shivering Isles installed]

 

The Globals and Tweaks are optional, but should not be checked unless you know what you are doing, and should be left alone while you are troubleshooting. Everything else should be left unchecked UNLESS you know that you need it.

I think you need to systematically remove large numbers of mods until the game becomes stable. Then you can slowly and systematically start reinstalling them until the problem returns. You can thereby isolate the bad mod or the mod that is incompatible with your build and permanently remove it.
