How do I use the modders resources?

Hi guys, I downloaded a resource pack(if it will help you, it's THIS one, it looks great!:) ) that contains only meshes. I extracted the meshes in my Data directory, (I did it well, it's not the first time!) and opened the CS. I glanced over the things, trying to find the new meshes/furniture, but I found nothing. :wallbash: There was no .esp included or something, I don't know what to do... can you help me?Thanks! :woot: Edited by Yetu

Hi, Yetu. Files, described as modder's resources are intended for modders to be able to use in their own mods. Some modder's resources also include an .esp so people can use them even if they aren't modders. If it doesn't have one, you will either need to learn how to use the Construction Set to make these playable, or you will have to hope someone else makes a mod out of them that you can use. Sorry not to have better news for you. Maybe someone seeing this thread can tell you if there is a mod that already uses those items. They do look nice.

Telyn, thanks for the reply.

I don't want to say I know how to use properly the CS, but I used the Morrowind one, even made a quest, (that was based on dialogues that make your journal updated, not killing something, not even sure if it's possible! :D)

I also tried the Oblivion one, not much difference, I know how to insert objects etc., but I can't find those objects/meshes that the resource pack includes. I tried glancing over furniture, but there was nothing new (I think I didn't miss anything...)

I thought it would make a new folder in that list, like MEO MESHES, ERIC'S COOL BUILDINGS etc.

As already stated, that is a 'modder's resource', which means that you WILL NOT find them in the CS. The meshes and textures are there for you to create your own mod. You have to use the CS to create viwable items in-game. It does make a new folder inside 'meshes' and 'textures' called 'MEO'. So, when you extracted the archive to your data folder, it should look like:

\Oblivion\Data\Meshes\MEO\..

\Oblivion\Data\Textures\MEO\..

Once you've got them extracted and in the right spot, you can make them an item in the CS by right clicking in the area you want them to be under (Static things like world objects go under Statics, etc), and selecting New. From there, you can browse to find the meshes you want. Select the mesh, and it'll show up in the browsing spot. If you want (And I recommend it), change the name of the static onject to prevent any incompatibilities with other mods that use the resource.

An easier way to mass add new statics is to drag them straight from the Data folder into the Statics item menu. That'll add them right in with the name of the file.
