Vagrant0
And I got to ask, when did Slayer become a satanic band? When did KorN become "Hardcore" or any other of those neu metal bands... Slayer is NOT death metal, it's thras.Kinda like asking how Fred Durst was ever thought of being "Hard core"... Blame ignorant people who know nothing other than what the media tells them. chjoco15
Since i am in a kinda metalish band myself (we are not that good though :P ) when me or some else writes lyrics for a song, we dont try to voice our beliefs or opinions, we just write what sounds good. I think this may be the same with some other bands too, but i am probably wrong
FritzDerochebrune
I've always thought emo's and gothics are people who can't handle the thruth. They think the world is sh*t, and always see the negative side of things. That's why I think they're week. With doing what they do you won't advance in life for a bit, just like hippies. (Shut up hippy, I kill you - E. Cartman) Anyway, those people just have to get on with their lifes in stead of being miserable. I knew people who listened to real hardcore, and those where OK (well, stoned half of the time, but always very funny) while emos aren't fun, nor the bands they listen to. I wouldn't oppose a law forbidding them to be emo's, however, I wouldn't be the one to propose such a law. cya Fritz
Karasuman
Love or hate...Can I choose absolutely f---ing despise? A bunch of dudes singing things you'd expect to hear out of a 14-year-old pre-pubescent girl. "Wahhhh...Wahhh...my girlfriend doesn't love me anymore..." Shut the f--- up and wipe the sand out of it already. If Red Jumpsuit Apparatus took a long walk off a very tall cliff, my only regret would be that I wasn't standing near it to hear the bones break at the bottom. I'd like to take an SKS and put a .50-cal shell in the groin of every member of Breaking Benjamin for assaulting my ears with their utter garbage. Once upon a time, and not very long ago, there were Alice In Chains, Nine Inch Nails, Garbage, Nirvana, Pantera, White Zombie (and a whole host of others such as Rammstein, Filter and Coal Chamber that, while not achieving the same popularity as the aforementioned, were still loads better than the incessant crap spewing from the radio these days). This gave way to...Nickelback, Evanescence, The Almost, Three Days' Grace...I feel impure and disgustingly nauseated for even having mentioned those bands... It's simply amazing (and sickening) what passes for "music" lately. This is why I refuse to listen to the radio. I've always liked more obscure stuff anyways, like Skinny Puppy, Bile, Switchblade Symphony, etc...But at least at one time there was something on the radio worth a drop or two of respect. Speaking of Bile, if you want hardcore, listen to those guys sometime, if you can find them. They are positively and truly nuts. Some of the stuff they write about make albums like The Downward Spiral look tame in terms of depravity. Not to knock T. Reznor...He still f---ing kicks ass. Signing off. JamesTruant
Woah, wheres all this hostility coming from? Seriously, if you dont like it dont listen to it. off switches and othre channels are there for a reason, and I dont see how people walking around dressed in a way you dont like is seriously affecting your life. I listen to anything, the only exception being the north easts "rave" scene. its not rave, its a cheap MC rip off. Theres a type of hardcore for every genre out there -Theres hardcore trance, hardcore rave, hardcore metal.Hardcore is a word. I say we destroy genres, that way well appreciate anything that sounds good to us. I know people who like certain bands but refuse to admit it, because it isnt part of their "scene." theyre the posers.
Switch
Eolath's post removed. "No" isn't "'nuff said" I'm afraid, it's one liner spam. Please read the rules before posting, thanks. ^^
Karasuman
"Woah, wheres all this hostility coming from?" It's coming from the fact that I don't always have dominion over the power button, such as at work or at the store, etc. That's fine, I've learned to tune it out for the most part. I am also happy to admit there are certain bands that I have at least some level of respect for, even though they're not necessarily "in-line" with my tastes. My favorite genre is Industrial, though I can say I like certain songs (or entire albums) by Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Coldplay, and The White Stripes, as well as others (music and war, two things the Brits are exceptionally good at). Btw, Coldplay is an interesting phenomenon. They sell millions, more than most artists, and every show they play is instantly sold out, though everyone and their mom acts like they hate them. I've never seen a band that was so hated sell so many records. So I'll agree with your comment about people not admitting they like certain songs from certain genres when they do. name_not_availble
These people (Fallout Boys excluded) are loosers, and i only like two fallout boys songs. Emo's are labeled as such due to the facts that they are emotionally detached from society and themselves. They have emotional problems and dispositions which do not able to them to fit in well in society. I do not however feel sorry for emo's going around trying to harm themselves. It was really funny though once, i was in a major shopping centre and there were these emo groups huddled around in little circles looking at people. They looked like such idiots LOL. JamesTruant
Here we go with generalising.Have you met EVERYBODY who would fit under the emo label? No? Well you cant say theyre ALL emotionally detatched with problems. I know some who fit brilliantly in with any group of people they meet.Ill agree with not feeling sorry for those who harm theirselves, as it really is the height of stupid, though most of the time something has sparked it off. poopgoblin
My thoughts exactly, kudos. Anyway, this is sort of off topic, but you can use this website to help you find new artists.
