JadedRyu
Well, every once and a while, we get bored of Oblivion, not sure what to do next, so I thought to start this thread up, bascially you post (Or suggest) a few challenges for people to do in Oblivion, ways to make it more fun, and perhaps go to lenghts that nobody has ever gone before... Her emy first few: Bruma/Anvil/Chorrol etc (City of your choice) Citizen: Well bascially here what you do, you create your character (Decide to stay in the prison and do the tutorial or use a cheat/mod to get out of the prison and not worrying about the main quest). Choose a simply choice of clothing (Go to coc testinghall to choose clothing of your choice, and give your self about 20k of gold if you want to buy a house), buy a house in the city you want to live in (I choose Bruma to live in), and choose any Guilds you wish (And yes, this does include DB hood members), but you must be in that city to join the Mage's guild (Like don't live in Bravil if you are a DB hood member). And act like a normal NPC, buy a house and a horse, walk around the city, pray at the temple, visit the Count/ess, Visit your Mage/Fighter etc Guild and do Alchemy or Conjuration or hit the dummy for practice. And when I mean walk, walk (Yes you heard me), and talk to people, be thier friends, give a coin to the begger, now this is part of the challenge, I know alot of people hate to walk, but that's the point, sleep at night, go to other towns or cities to buy more alchemy ingredients (You can run on the horse, it too dangerous to walk with creatures around), and no tgm cheat either, no fast travelling (I can find a way to enterain myself while walking or riding). So that's the challenge, to make a limit, make the challenge, be a citizen for seven days (Feel free to break the law thought, but you will have to go to jail or pay the fine), I can be a citzen for much longer then that though, how long can you be one? Challenge 2:Attack or kill someone and see how long you can advoid the guards (Without them even talking to you), you can do anything, sneak around the city, hide out in the wildness (And no cheats like TGM), the challenge ends when the guards catch you (I gone for a few days advoiding them), it best to have your althetics and speed skill up too. Challenge 3:Play through the main quest without any help, no potions, no spells (You can run away and rest and come back later though), this is a challenge I yet can achieve, I can barely do it with potions and all (Damn Scamps always kill me in like two or three hits) I will add more challenges later, so what kind of challenges can you come up with? Funny stuff that aren't really challenges: For those who just want to past the time, do what I do, hit a guard and start talking in real life in a funny voice and say something like "No, I idn't do I swear, Help, Cilivan over there, help me!), or lure an enemy to the guards and shout "Help me Guard! He's going to kill me), or create massive spells in the CS to blow away your enemies, download mods that do crazy things to have the time fly by. Rhydderch Hael
...And act like a normal NPC, buy a house and a horse, walk around the city, pray at the temple, visit the Count/ess, Visit your Mage/Fighter etc Guild and do Alchemy or Conjuration or hit the dummy for practice. Done that. My female Imperial assassin-type character took up the post of second-in-command of the Cheydinhal Town Guard after Garrus was promoted to Captain in the aftermath of "Corruption and Conscience". As an Imperial in Dumner-town, her standing within the community aligned with the status quo: with the exception of the Lythandras and the Count himself, all the Dark Elves of the town have very low dispositions towards her. The Orc gangsters follow suit due to her uniform. The women of the castle, irregardless of race, hate her too out of sheer jealousy. All the guards in town, of course, have 100+ dispositions towards her (drawing a weapon wouldn't even budge it). That came in part from Cassie's role as guard paymaster as well as leader of the night watch: she doled out as much gold as she could in conversation with each guard— not as bribes, but as their pay. She does circle the town on patrol at night, closing gates that residents carelessly leave open. Hardly visits the chapel, though. Her religious practices are a little more secretive— as a guard, she has to "check out" the abandoned house at least twice every week, after a brief journey to Bravil (for "investigations"). In "Allies for Bruma", Cheydinhal was naturally her first stop. Only by avoiding Farwil altogether did she attempt to save the schmuck. When Cheydinhal was secured, she immediately trekked back to Bruma to check on the encampment and struck up an interesting conversation with the female Cheydinhal guard sent there (on the account that, until that day, Cassie had no idea there were any women besides herself in the corps). Abramul
One I'm considering is doing a character who doesn't sneak or use hostile magic. Probably wouldn't use Marksman either...

Guest Tessera
The toughest challenge in Oblivion... besides putting the game away (LOL)... will be subjective, but... Try attacking Umbra at level 25 and at the highest difficulty setting. That also means WITHOUT using the cheat console, or any hacked/modified weapons and armor. Oh and before any young 'uns puff out their chests and try to tell us how "easy it was" for them to win that fight fair and square: show us a video of you doing it at highest difficulty, or it didn't happen. :P She's tough at that level and difficulty setting. Very tough.
Abramul
One that I wouldn't care to try: Getting through the game without dying, and restarting from chargen if you do die. (Of course, loading an autosave in the event of a crash would be OK)
JadedRyu
RH- Interesting, maybe I will play as an Imperial Guard in Leywiann or something, that would be cool, and I am glad I am not the only one who can think of these things and not going around killing everythingTessera- Ah us, Umbra, she's hard enough even with tgm on, she's really tough to kill (I think I tried killing her on level 255 (This was my cheat file), it took a long way to kill her
Rhydderch Hael
Taking on the role of a Leyawiin or Chorrol guard will open up another game opportunity: you can escort Countess Alessia Caro's monthly procession between the two cities. It'd be slow going, but you're doing something. That is, if you didn't mercilessly slaughter her in the name of free Argonians everywhere.
poopgoblin
if you get bored, just download the Hilarity mod and have at it.
Dezedor
As far as i can see these challenges i pure roleplay. NICE!Ok i got some too. 1: DecorationsOne of my characters was from time to time taking som VERY long walks in DBs dark halls, but in the ended they started too getting to familiar. So he (still my character im talking about i got no control of him :P ) desided to decorate the place. You can palce your trophies and the likes on tables which seems likely around in the halls of your guilds (if you're master of one your sure to have a memory of some sort.) or update your beatifull wine cellar matching. (not talking about modding i am talking about actually buying (or stealing...?) and placing every single bottle!) Your can also use your collections to decorate with, og make and alchemist table, use notes (can be customized through modding if you want them to say anything special) and pens to make an office make put some planter for decorations, and so on. It took my about five ingame weeks (and several offgame weekends) to just decorate the main hall of DB sanctuary. But heres is two important thing: 1: Save VERY OFTEN! Your had works is getting screwed up all to easy and npcs often push your decorations on the floor if they are not placed right. 2: Mabey try to get a mod making it easyer to place things. They are hard too find though. Mabey later i'd add some screenshots from what you can do from decorating. realy love it but my computer just failed to save oblivion from somehow deleting itself, my characters, and all my beatifull houses and guild halls. It gonna take some time to make that agian..... 2: CollectionHave you ever done a dungeon? Of course you have! But have your ever done a dungeon for the sake of adding artifacts to you beatifull collection? I would'n bet on it.... But it is a fantastic way to get new and beatifull decorations. An well placed welkynd or mabey even varla stone can do WONDERS to the atmosphere of a nice little mages home, and the alyid statues (which i cant really think of some statues) is looking so evil that they are fitting perfectly into DB halls. Or mabey make a collection of enchancted weapons, all the guard uniforms in the game, and (oh i can just keep going because ive done a lot of them before the big "game chrash"....... so on. There is actually no real limits in the collections you can make. 3: RoleplayingWell yes. Get some mods making the game more realistic if you prefer and start playing. I currently walks (yes i mean walk! it is not that boring with crowded roads on. Dam i hear a lot of rumors) from town to town with Gnepin my mechant-character who dreams of some day get his own shop. Gives a steady income an big oppertunity to brag for the guards (or bribe them if neccesary) an interact with shoppers, citizens, and so on. And from time to time you must protect you valuably moner and goods from bandits and highwaymen! And mabey your kind to the beggars, or mabey you hate them! Begging for money, fine! Begging for your hard earned riches! Who do they think they are!!!Or mabey you want to be a farmer. Personally i like playing a combined farmer and hunter class, as it also allows something to do when the crops is harvested. Download andrenaline oblivion or mod some more creatures in yourself, and then find a nice establisment in the wilderniss (or once agian use mods to gain one) an settle down. Take care of your sheep (i once had a mod making them respawn, so i could slaughter one from time to time.) and your crops, protrect your farm agianst wild bears and things like that, og mabey hunt for them, try making some primitive alchemy, and go the long walk for the nearest town to sell your goods, and use your hard earned money for whatever you farmerheart desire.Or be a miner? Find an empty mine, (or make one empty) mod one mabey make a mod with more than you in the mine or something like that, and start living the life. I Think it would be cool with and mine charge by a lord, which you work in, and you gets money for all the silver/gold/gems (and so on) you deliver at the mining chief, and after a hard days work go back to the mining camp and get drunk or something like that. Since i'd never seen anything in game making that possible and nor seen a mod doing it i will mabey make it myself after my current project. More challenges? Greedy barstards! I guess you should chach the link above. I'll do.
