Fallout 3 CTD (diffirent mods)

Hi,

 

I've got a real anying problem.

my game gets various CTD's.

 

1. When I activate the Purrifier, (I sacrifice myself, Very Good (1000) karma)

2. When getting beamed up by alians in ZETA.

3. When I walk trough the garage door after my stuff was stolen by guard. (unconfirmed, seemed to be a leveling bug, had to restart game)

4. When retrieving the GECK and get captured by the enclave.

 

I don't know what is cousing them.

I've got around 20? mods installed and running, but dunno how to get the list like others have. I don't really want to write every thing down, got enough writing to do...

 

the mods I'm using are already redused to the minimum I want to use...

 

I've noticed this:

 

all CTD's happen around when my stuff is stolen from my inventory.

 

More accurate Crash details:

 

1. I can activate the purifier. I get the whole end game cenima thing. but the game crashes as soon as it want's to load the room I have to revive...

I had once started broken steel before, but then the game stopped working in antorach mod...

 

2. I walk to crash site, get the blue stuff around me, hear the sound that my stuff is stolen, loading screen apears, and then the game crashes. (I guess when I should enter the cell)

 

3. I walk over the bridge, some idiots blow up around me... I walk trough the gates. my stuff is stolen. I walk trough the garage gate. CTD... (I've noticed this is coused by the sonic screwdriver from fallout who, but when I got rid of it, the game crashed as I leveled up. and I had to restart the game)

 

4. I see a pulse nade falling. thing knocks me to the ground. two enclave men are chit-chatting. loading screen apears, and hear the sound that my stuff is stolen (again) and when I should reapear in the cells the game crashes.

I've been cappeble to get trough the crash by 'cheating'. I stripped myself down using the teleporter of Fallout reborn V8.2. and used the 'removeall' command to get rid of anything else. then it seemed to work. it does not work however for ZETA and Broken Steel...

Most of those seem like times when the game would autosave. Have you tried disabling autosave? And how many saves do you have in your \\My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3\saves folder? In any case, those are just knee-jerk responses, really. But the pattern seems to suggest corrupted save(s).

Hi,

 

yes since resently I use a mod CASM. special way of auto saving.

it works pretty good... it works a bit better than the normal autosaves.

 

but it there a good way to spot corrupted files?

cause in morrowind there was a tool to manage you saves pretty good. helped me a lot of times.

but with Fallout 3 it's just looking in the dark...

 

anyway, what are 'knee-jerk responses'?

 

and the answer on 'how many savefiles' = 47

but I am deleting the useless ones now, that are 25 files.

so if the error continues, I/you have to count on 22 files now.

By "knee-jerk" I meant that those were the usual questions that pop into my head when I see someone having the kind of problem you are getting hammered with, but they don't always apply. If you are still having the prob after tidying up your saves, then post your load order as exported from FOMM, so we can have a shifty at it and see if there are any suspects in there.

[T-51DNV-TVAO.esp is a small mod that allowed me to wear T-51d power armor and the whole set of advanced recon gaer at the same time.]

 

there are more small problems with mods, but I can't remember them at the moment.

 

I just tested the game... though I had to activate the purifier manually (I lost sara girl... so I had to use concole to hack the emercency shield thing....)... but it still crashes... I've used the player.removeallitems command, but that didn't work...

and I don't think I can strip my game of any other mod without losing stuff and/or having to restart sertain things.

First, those are a lot of deactivated mods. If you don't use them, I'd delete them.

Next, you don't seem to have a merged patch. Get FO3Edit (FO3Edit on Nexus.com Better grab version 2.5.3. for stability as the newest version is by authors information a bit hicky) and create a merged patch.

You do that with checking every mod you want to use (so essentially every mod that you don't want to delete in the first step) either in FOMM or the Mods Tab in the Fallout Launcher, then activate FO3Edit and hit okay. Then the program will do its doing until the messages at the end says "Background loading finished"! Then you rightclick into the tab where your mods are listed and click on "Create Merged Patch" (around the middle of the options). Then it will do its doing again. But that will be short and if you see that it ain't doing its doing anymore, you click on exit. A message will pop up and you just hit OK.

Tick the merged patch too and then go back and rename FO3Edit to FO3MasterUpdate and run it. You don't have to do anything but wait around one and a half minutes and then the MasterUpdate is done too (it eseentially makes Masterfiles out of your plugins which increases stability, by a lot when running multiple mods).

Just make sure you have all access rights as if you don't and the programm asks for administrative rights, it will also automatically choose the paths to the user that is the administrator, so if you have multiple user on your PC and you don't play the game with the administrative account, it will choose the wrong directions and nothing will happen. In this case I suggest you deactivate UAC for this time being so it bypasses the administrator check and goes directly to your directory. Just don't forget to reactivate the UAC settings once you are done if you do so!

where is that list/tab? and second, when I start it, I get a list with mods, but only the DLCs is that normal?

 

and I just took a look at one of the images on the mod download page... my thing is completely blank...

both the left list as that under the view tab...

it's both the top part and the second to last line ([00:07] Background Loader: Fatal: <Exception: "Anchorage.esm" requires master "Fallout3.esm" to be loaded before it.>) that bothers me. but I have know knowledge of that, so I let you figure that out, since I can't..

and I just took a look at one of the images on the mod download page... my thing is completely blank...

it's both the top part and the second to last line ([00:07] Background Loader: Fatal: <Exception: "Anchorage.esm" requires master "Fallout3.esm" to be loaded before it.>) that bothers me. but I have know knowledge of that, so I let you figure that out, since I can't..

 

Hmm, ... that looks a lot like you have a mixed up loadorder. Make sure Fallout.esm is first, then the DLC and such. Do you use FOMM? If not, get it ( here ) and rearrange the loadorder.

 

All those plugin errors suggest FO3Edit tried to load them first and consequently failed so as the ressources located in Fallout.esm weren't available yet. Same with Anchorage.esm. That is due to a mixed up loadorder. Said one should look like:

 

Fallout.esm

Anchorage.esm

ThePitt.esm

BrokenSteel.esm

PointLookout.esm

MothershipZeta.esm

[all other .esm you have as Masterfiles have top priority when loading]

[then your plugins]

 

When you have FOMM, you can just click and drop your files in the menu in the right order, close FOMM and then use FO3Edit.

From then on, it is the same as in my previous post. The reason you couldn't do as I said was that FO3Edit couldn't load the plugins.

 

And you could play the game normally with all those mods working? Normally, if the loadorder is messed up like I suspect it is, most mods shouldn't work properly.

I can play the came pretty good. appart from the head-shot CTD's (CTD's that prevent you from continueing.).

 

and yes, I use FOMM. and FOSE if you need that.

and again. I can play the game pretty bugless.

I only got head-shot CTD's actually. and the ocasional currupt save file(falling trough the floor in the abbys of nothingness or the weapon not working properly, etc. after loading.). but that's fixed by resaving and reloading, or switching cells.

I've just noticed that the small list you get when starting FO3Edit is odd. it says:

I can't change this list btw... only tick a box...

So I guess the FO3Edit loads it wrong, But dunno, I have no knowledge about this thing...
