I have Win 7, a 2.6 processor, a Intel HD vid card, etc. When I start to play it, it always closes with a "problem" message. This is what has happened because I'm new to this gaming stuff have no idea what your talking about (sorry I'm a neewb) I installed it on my c: Drive. orginally in the programs file then I tried updating it to the 1.7 version then the unofficial patch it still didn't work! Then I read something in the Forum about the game working better outside the program file so I modied it so it went directly on the c drive in it's own file. (Basically I used the example in the forum where I found it on the topic about mods. Then I also put the unofficial patch back on I saw it is meant for the original version not 1.7 so I kept it like that. Then it said can't find the Fallout.ini file so I read in the faqs on the patch read me that when that happenns you have to manually do some changes. After that it still didn't work and yes I saved the file and reset it. As a matter of fact it doesnt even bring me to the screen anymorewhere I choose new game. Instead it turns purple then gives me the same message Fallout 3.exe has stopped working windows searching for a solution. So I figured maybe the patch didnt install right so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it is installed right cause I didnt get that message about the Fallout.INI file but now it basiclly does the same thing it actually gives the sounds of the beginning of the game but the screen is black then it goes purple then black again when the Fallout 3 stopped working message comes up. Also if this isnt completly helpful if any can explain in newwb language what AKA Fomm, version ,FOSE version, FO# Edit Version, Mod list Versions, Etc are and how to find them I will give u the info thanx so much! But is there anything else you have installed that is Fallout related? To the person who fixes this my Fianc'e says she will name our first born after said person thanx! And you have xlive.dll issue in there too ta boot, now you are making some sense here, If that is all there was done I know exactly where your at with the game. No wonder your at a loss. Ok so what is needed here is actually a fresh start, meaning before game install. This means OS prep, we have to make your system ready first to run the game, I understand now why your having problems. First uninstall Evey thing backwards as you installed them, Since you said this your first time, I'll address you in that manner if it helps you. Step by step if necessary But we need to take this off the forums , it's gonna take some time to acclimate you to whats needed. I have copied your system specs and will do some research to try and get you the best possible service you can for what this issue entails.You PM me, and we can begin. I had the 1.7 but the patch reame said that it was meant for the original so I didnt reinstall it when I took fallout out of the programs file. Inglebert....hmm....no definately not somehow a cross between a white catholic and a black spritualy open women does not fit with the name Inglebert however if you were named John I'd be happy because she thinks John is to common a name.
