stk049
During my first playtrough Lydia was decapitated by a dwemer centurion and It was really cool, but I wouldn't want followers to always just die, only on chance. Basically I just want this fix reversed: A protected NPC may still be killed by other NPCs if they are attacked during bleedout, commonly by area of effect magic, poison or delayed power attacks. This bug is fixed by version Beta 1.9.26.0.8 of the Official Skyrim Patch.http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Protected_NPCsIs it possible to make a mod for this? Edsh0t
Its already part of the base game, and as it says on the wiki, if you get the unofficial skyrim patches (USKP) they will rarely die. Basically, when they reach 0 hp followers drop to one knee and enemies cease to target them, unless they cannot target anyone else. Followers that are kneeling down may still be killed, by you mostly, by area of effect attacks, or simply by enemies that chose to target them even in that state. ScottC12
Another way to handle this, if you use the UFO multiple follower framework mod: Use the "You are important" dialogue option on a follower and they become "protected" - they can still crumple for a while when badly injured, but will not die, and will heal themselves in time. To help prevent your character from accidentally injuring your followers (which is all too easy to do), there is a No Friendly Fire mod by Phinix. It is a togggle-able "magical" power.
