Iv000
Mostly I have been playing new games like Assassins Creed Brotherhood, New Vegas and they have been running great.I wanted to play my recently (a month ago) bought Medieval 2 Total War, but then I noticed, it lags, a lot. ( It didn't a month ago...)But not only M2 is the problem, Thief 3, Doom 3 even Oblivion, all older games that I have aren't running like they should.Thief 3 lags a lot, i get about 20 FPS.Doom 3 won't even start. And Oblivion without mods is running at 20-40 fps. (Usually, it was a solid 60) I am blaming the new, and not so new ATI catalyst drivers.I tried going back from 11.2 to 11.1 to 10.12. It's the same every time. Now I am trying to install 10.11 drivers and see if they will work. (Yes i know how to properly uninstall/install drivers) If anyone thinks it is not my driver but something else, please post it.And if anyone has had similar problems, post them in here.Thanks. EDIT: I feel stupid, really really stupid. The problem was that the game files were fragmented. Only thing I had to do is defragment the files and it is running great again. You (the guy who is reading this) can't imagine how stupid I feel right now. Illiad86
Hmm...I'm getting no lag in Oblivion, Audiosurf, or TF2 on the 11.1 drivers. Edited March 26, 2011 by Illiad86
Iv000
Hmm...I'm getting no lag in Oblivion, Audiosurf, or TF2 on the 11.1 drivers. Thanks for the feedback.I tried older drivers (10.9) still the same.Probably some more software-ish issues, can't be hardware's fault since AC:B and other newer games are running great. This is getting really strange...I scanned for viruses and it found nothing. Will post feedback if I get something. And more help would be appreciated.
