ianpwilliams
Compatibility patches, what are those? I have the unofficial patch from Nexus but I'm guessing that isn't it. Seems like every answer brings up another question.
Ethreon
Use Blackened, they are up to date. FOIP are way out of date.
M48A5
Compatibility patches, what are those? I have the unofficial patch from Nexus but I'm guessing that isn't it. Seems like every answer brings up another question. Compatibility patches are used to have two mods work together. For example, you RH_Ironsights install and Weapon Mod Kits. Since both mod weapons, you need a patch so they get along together. Or if you are using Mart's Mutant Mod, which adds more creatures to the game and DC Interiors, which adds interiors and creatures in buildings. Using a patch would allow the creatures from MMM to be displayed in DC Interiors.
ianpwilliams
Where would I get these compatibility patches? It seems like they would have to be very specific patches based on whatever the conflicting mods were.
ianpwilliams
Is this a good guide to follow when it comes to setting up Fallout 3 for modding? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=149946772
Ethreon
It is a good guide. Benwah knows his modding, and you can trust his guides.
ianpwilliams
Yes it looks that way. Thanks for the help, no doubt I'll be back with questions, but hopefully not if I follow the guide closely
SirTwist
To mod Fallout New Vegas, use this guide, if it's not mentioned already: http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Essarrbee/FalloutNewVegas

ianpwilliams
I'm following that guide, and I've gotten to the part where it says to download, install and run BOSS, which I've done. But now the guide just says to "run BOSS_GUI" to automatically sort the mod load order, and the only BOSS executable I can find is the BOSS Userlist Manager, so when I run that I can choose Fallout 3 and it finds the data folder for the mod directory, but what are the Masterlist and BOSS Program paths?
