CaptainClams Posted March 1, 2007 Share Posted March 1, 2007 Hey, I love the site, but lately almost every large mod download (25 MB seems to be around the cutoff) has not been downloading properly. When it downloads, it downloads a 0kb empty rar/zip file. These, unfortunately, look like individual cases of the upload not working/file going missing that can only be rectified by the author reuploading the mod to the site. XeroNilson Posted March 10, 2007 Share Posted March 10, 2007 I am noticing this as well. The smallest one I have encountered this problem with was 16.5 MB (the LOD Normal Map Fix mod). Luckly there was a mirror site I was able to use. I have tried today to download 4 files. These are from the 'Must Have Mods' recommended by the uesp wiki. Landscape LOD Textures by shaja (worked)http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2182 Landscape LOD Textures (border regions) by shaja (worked)http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2210 LOD Normal Map Fix by BlueSteel (broken - mirror worked)http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2446 Cyrodiil Terrain Color Map by whisselj (broken - no mirror)http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2634 The only common detail I can see is that all the files where this is happening have a "Latest Update" date of April 2006. The ones that did work had a "Latest Update" date of June 2006. With the Terrain Color Map by whisselj, there was a link from another site that theoretically linked to the file cache, it returned a 404 error. (Not suprising for something this old) I can only ASSume that there is an archive/removal policy in effect. On a personal level, I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY looking for the Terrain Color Map mod, can anyone help me? (I have checked out some of the others but this one is the best!!) Edit: I don't think it is the uploader's fault that these are not working as the files I wanted to download (but couldn't) already had high download counts.
