21603
I know it's not out and your probably in the dark as much as I am, but I was hoping to find out if the new expansion will have modding capability's like Tribunal and Bloodmoon did. I was thinking maybe it wouldn't like being opened with Oblivion.esm or something like KOTN which refuses to open with the CS. The only reason I ask is because I saw some cool stuff in those videos and I'd love to use it for my new mod.
Sypron
Good point, as far as I know they havn't mentioned it, if it works or not. If you are just making the mod for yourself, you could use a BSAunpacker to get to the files, but its illegal to send thos files to someone without the expansion. crazydave
Personally, Im hopeing Bethesda decides to release a newer version of the CS alongside Shivering Isles.
Povuholo
Personally, Im hopeing Bethesda decides to release a newer version of the CS alongside Shivering Isles.I'm pretty sure they said they will... Somewhere. If they release a new version of the CS alongside Shivering Isles, it would make sense to have Shivering Isles modable as well. And if Shivering Isles is modable, that means mods will appear that require the expansion, which means people who haven't bought it have an extra reason to buy it. And Bethesda likes selling many. sleepyskye
As well as i can tell shivering isles should be compatable with all mods...as long as they dont take the spot where its teleporter is.
Abramul
As well as i can tell shivering isles should be compatable with all mods...as long as they dont take the spot where its teleporter is.And even then, it wouldn't *necessarily* be incompatible. I would assume, though, that they're making a new island, in which case it could cause problems to have a mod that alters seafloor levels or such loading afterwards. "And if Shivering Isles is modable, that means mods will appear that require the expansion, which means people who haven't bought it have an extra reason to buy it. And Bethesda likes selling many." And THIS is why I haven't gone and bought KotN. Well, this, and a few large problems with KotN itself...

Shivering Isles will be created in a new world cell that the PC will be teleported to (I'm assuming something similar to Tribunal) so incompatibility issues should never arise. Manly that, but the teleporter itself is on a landmass. Thats the only "Physical" implication.
