  1. I think I found the mod I was looking for, but I'm having trouble finding a custom body texture for it. The mod is the Dagi-Raht Khajiit race. The texture I wanted comes up in this image. http://i.imgur.com/7o1dA.gif I'm pretty sure it's the same race mod, but that texture is not one of the original mod authors options.
  2. What's happened to 4096 See Through Nocturnal Robes that were hosted on the Nexus a few days ago? Link is dead.
  3. Keep in mind too that the TESV.exe doesn't need Steam open to run. I'm guessing someone stuffed up and only linked the launcher to Steam not the actual game executable. Yay for those that hate on Steam I guess.
  4. Yep, and instead of just selling what's in the chest she sells all of her own personal items along with them.
  5. I made a new shop owner for Chorrol and set up the house/store with everything I wanted her to own and all the items I want her to sell, but when I finished setting up the vendor chest with all the items and checked the store in-game, she's selling absolutely everything in the building. I've set her up to sell only the items I want through the AI menu and all the items I want to sell are in the vendor chest. The cell belongs to her and so do all the items. I can't figure out what I've done wrong, other than assigning ownership to all the items in the building, including the items I want her to sell, but even before I did that she was still selling everything. I followed the tutorial at the Construction Set Wiki and also looked at a few shops in the CS.
  6. What I should have made the topic title was "Oblivion City Gates Completely Vanish after MQ." The gates aren't open obviously, they're gone. No rubble, destroyed buildings, or gate spikes to be seen. It's like they were never even there. EDIT: Sorry about the double post.

  8. I just completed the main quest after closing all the Oblivion gates at each city and everything, but now that I've finished the games story all the gates that were open near each city have completely vanished. It's like they were never even there. Is this some mod that does this because it seems too precise to be a bug.
  9. I thought I might convert a few vanilla armours from the Exnem body to HGEC using Max and all was going well, but I ran into a snag when I hit the bottom of the tutorial and it called for a specific Blender script to be run to re-weight to mesh. I tried searching for tutorials specifically for Max to convert Amour and also to re-weight meshes, but I found only one reference to a tutorial by Vagrant which is host by and apparently dead site. The link for Vagrant's tutorial goes to a 404 error. Vagrant Tutorial The tutorial I was following was called Exnemizing Meshes: Part 1 - 4 Does anyone have a living link to the Vagrant tutorial or know of another way of convert meshes in Max?
  10. Just wondering if I can force the Construction Set to load mesh replacers like potion bottles and other various things. I added a whole bunch of potions to a store, but in the CS the bottles are default. When I go into the game I see the replaced bottles and they're all over the place and up in the air. Is there a setting in the .ini for this sort of thing?
  11. I want to replace most of the animations in the game with better ones, but I can't find a mod that seems to do what I want. I'm not really into anything like the DMC animations and Animation Replacer Pack by reso is insanely confusing to install. I'd like animations to work best for both sexes because the ones I'm using now seem to be made for female characters, but it also replaces them for all characters not just the PC. :wallbash:
  12. I'm looking for a mod that allows you to keep your bow on your back while you have a sword equipped on you side. Is it even possible for this to be done though?
  13. I would like to know what mod this outfit is from: http://www.tessource.net/images/share/265094-1187668285-TESSource.jpg
  14. It's actually the other way round. PC users got the console port.
  15. Your post falls upon deaf, umm... eyes here unfortunately and somewhat over at the official forums. As for physics capes and clothing, I've been told it's impossible because of engine limitations. Apparently it had the capability for much more advanced bodies and clothes, but was removed (not sure if it's at all true, can anyone clarify).
  16. Yes but they've made modding the game almost impossible from the start, and now even more with the release of the new "better" construction set and the 1.2 "patch". If you're going to let people mod your game then release a proper tool set so new models, animations, textures and other stuff can be created quickly and easily.
  17. The console community is where the money is. Since the price of a console game now is upwards of $120, why would they waste time making two separate games. It's all about the money. I could not agree more. That's what I loved about Morrowind, you could talk to an NPC practically about anything, including their background. Now it's just a specific rumor if you're lucky. Voice acting on everyone also makes modding very hard, if your mod has tons of new dialogue and no voices it's rather odd. I foolishly thought the A.I in the game was Radiant A.I. Clearly I was mistaken, and I think the loading screen describing it should have been removed :( I hate generic quests. I'm not an NPC's personal delivery monkey. I don't want to, but I have to mention the consoles again. The game console is geared to a clichéd audience of morons (no offense) and as such most games on them are well... dumb, and again why make two versions when one will suffice. I won't get involved in the fast travel debate because my view of it involves the consoles again. The exterior has many flaws. Trees, rocks, plants, and many other things are floating and not just a little bit, but way up in the air sometimes taller than the PC. That's just being lazy and when I come across something like that it completely ruins the immersion. The leveling system is designed for ease of use, and you can see where I'm going. Damn I hate the console version. I know again with the consoles, but this one has merit. It's because of Xbox Live Marketplace that PC users are forced to purchase those mods. If you think about it, it makes sense. I don't know him, but from this: "responsible for a lot of the hype campaign prior to Oblivion's release." I hate him. Oblivion was hyped up so much that the images they were showing off prior to release were all gussied up, and not just with special effects like HDR, I mean physical things, like more trees, rocks mushrooms, bushes, everything. It feels like Bethesda have sold out to the console market and it makes me sad and angry at the same time. I don't have anything against consoles, but when they do things like this it really poos me. Consoles should have console games and vise versa. Come to think of it Morrowind on Xbox was pretty poor too, Raven Rock wouldn't even build.
  18. It makes me wonder what community (if any) Bethesda actually listen too. Do they listen to the PC users who complain a lot about all the annoying little things the games has/does, or do they listen more to the console community who praise the game and never have a bad word to say about it.
  19. It's the dawn of the console age so games are just going to get dumber (doesn't sound right). :( >:( I'm dreading what fallout 3 will be like after seeing Oblivion. I have something to add. I can't understand how the Bloated Float managed to get out to the open sea when there was a giant bridge in the way, a smaller bridge further down, and an entire town down from that. They should have sat back and took a long, careful look at what they were doing.
  20. Is Oblivion the game you were hoping for? Yes and no. There are certain things in Oblivion I prefer over previous Elder Scrolls games and there are many things I dislike. Do you enjoy playing it? As much as I try to tell myself it's a crap game I keep coming back to it. Oscuro's Overhaul and the other mods I have installed help that happen. If you were lead developer of Bethesda, what specific, major changes would you make to the game that you think would improve it? I would never have made the PC version a console port for one, and the removal of Sutch (don't ban me) still really gets to me, the Imperial City would have been completely different also (much closer to how it was described in Redguards pocket guide to the empire). Axe as blunt, that just makes no sense so I would have left the skill system the way it was. There are lots of little (and some major) inconsistencies throughout the game (where did the Emperor sleep) so I would also have done more research into my own lore, Leyawiin completely blocks off any ships from reaching the Imperial City (also little birdges, shallow water) so that would also have been "researched" better. Fast travel would never have existed either, I think it's tacky and "console" dumb. A proper travel system would have been much more fun. The voice actor they used for the Dark Elves in Morrowind (and other games) was used in a demo trailer they were showing off and in the final game he is not used (no comment on current voice actor). I think the previous actor was much more suited to that race and would have made the game that much better. The main quest sucks, it should have been much harder to find Martin, and the ending goes nowhere. There are other things like the bogus screenshots they were showing off when the game was under development, lack of a stable construction set, etc. That's all for now. ;D Mine looks like a madman's rant compared to Bismarck36's well thought out and well written post :glare:
  21. You must be some sort of mechanical monster man. You're actually making something that looks... good! unlike all those other flat, lifeless mods out there (no offense to the creators of those mods). I'm giving you some kudos, bloody brilliant.
  22. I think there was a mod that was released around the time Oblivion was. It allowed you to move the facegen slider bars so only one moved, not all of them.
  23. I'm sure it's already been said, but a decent construction set would be nice. Also better physics. Bethesda's implementation of Havok sucked, they need a new physics engine and also the ability to have proper cloth garments, like they used in Myst V.
  24. Shouldn't this be in General Oblivion anyway? It has nothing to do with a mod or modding.
  25. I heard talk awhile ago of a mod that put reigns back onto the horses (when riding). Just wondered if anyone knew what it was?
