GamerGuySince95
The first thing I would recommend is to read the sticky for this very forum, an essential beginners guide to modding. Also, what armor mod did you download? Did you choose the "Download through NMM" option? How did you activate and delete the mod?

ironbender800
what was the mod? what were the requirements? What are your computer specs? As said above read some of the many guides out there on modding properly. Watch videos on youtube. gamer poet, dirty weasel, gopher, and others. Check out the STEP guide. I configure steam, skyrim, and Mod Organizer according to the step guidelines. Always read a mods description and follow the instructions and requirements before downloading it. Also I strongly suggest using Mod Organizer and NOT Nexus Mod manager. You can save yourself a lot of headache right off the bat. I suggest MO even for total beginners. If you decide to use Mod Organizer, for every mod you have to follow these steps : download mod, install mod, activate mod and check plugins (only if a mod have .esp files). And again, what armor you are trying to install ?

Jannifer
Do you have SKSE installed? And, is Steam giving you the error, or the SKSE launcher? If so, the launcher may have gotten corrupted. Reinstalling SKSE should fix the issue. You do not have to start the game through Steam, but you probably already know that. Here's another possible fix. Go to your desktop or your Skyrim directory and use the vanilla launcher. That's the shortcut you used when you first installed the game, before you added SKSE (if you have it). Run it once. You should get a message along the lines of "Skyrim will now detect your hardware." Let that happen, then close the launcher. Start with Steam or SKSE as you usually do. Whenever you verify your game cache through Steam, you need to run the vanilla launcher once to rebuild your .ini files. (These files are located in My Documents\My Games\Skyrim.) These files are necessary for the game to launch, so it's possible the original problem came about when one or both of these files got corrupted in some way. As a final note, using Mod Organizer (MO) or Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) is really a personal preference. NMM's latest alpha release has the profile capability of MO. While not installing mods to your Skyrim\Data folder does make reinstalling the game easier, the process creates its own set of problems. Unless your game is hopelessly borked, there's really no reason to have to wipe the entire thing and reinstall. I've reinstalled once. The last two times, I have taken my game back to vanilla using the STEP guide -- http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Make_Skyrim_Vanilla_Again Welcome to the wonderful world of modding.

Anthong
Honestly, take 20 mins of vid watching to get a basic idea on how to use mod organizer, loot, and TES5edit. These programs do so much for you and make a lot of complicated stuff very simple.
