Ghoulz
The last time I tried things went totally wrong. I followed any instructions from this, but they aren't specific enough for me. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23181 It seems so simple. So what's the best way to change the voice of a custom race? Do... you use ES C Kit? Edited April 5, 2011 by Ghoulz
Maskar
Easiest would be to just change the voice of the race in the construction set. Load the esp, click character (in menu) -> race -> change male and female voice of race to Imperial or whatever.

I'm pretty newb at modding so my questions may be silly, but i ask anyway.Does that include custom voices too? Are they automaticly at list when u add new folder at data\sound\voice\oblivion.esm or do you have to add them somehow with CS? Does it need scripting? Maskar
Custom voices are normally used to replace already existing race voices. They are stored in folders like Imperial and will replace the voice of all characters of that race. You could also create your own race (same menu) and create your own voice (folder name for files is same as the race name).

So voice folder is automaticly related to race name when creating custom race with custom voice? And Construction Set adds voice automaticly to the list as long as voice folder is named same as race and filenames are named correctly? Also where you need lip-files, are they necessary when creating custom voice for custom race?
Maskar
The voice folder is the name of the race (not race id). So for instance, the Wood Elf has the voice set to HighElf (the race id) and is therefore using High Elf (with space) as voice folder as that's the name of the race. LIP files aren't 100% required, but it can mess up voices if you don't have them. Companions need them for instance or they won't talk.

FenrirsBlade
Hi everyone, I hope i´m not too late and somebody actually takes the time to read this. First off I´m completely new to the whole modding stuff.Secondly I have the german version of the game, if that matters for my problem tough I actually don´t mind if I end up having an english voice for the custom race (problem described below)Now for my actual problem:I downloaded a custom race, and when I start the game i can choose the race no problem. However there is no voice ever. When I realized that i opened the plugin for the race with tes construction set. When I choose the custom race from the list you can usually change the voice under the race/general data option. However for the custom race in question it stated a voice called "demonmeatsuit". Does that mean that I also need a folder in the data/sound directory that is of the same name? If so how do i make it work? Should I just create an empty folder there called the same as the voice and copy the .lip files of another race into it? Or does the fact that the voice is already chosen for the race mean, that there is already supposed to be a folder in the data/sound directory named after the voice when i first extracted the plugin files from the download Hope there will still be an answer soon. Thank you guys in advance!
Lanceor
The folder names in the German version are different to that of the English version. Argonian - > argonierBreton -> bretoneHigh Elf -> hochelf (the same voice is used for Dark and Wood elves)Imperial -> kaiserlicherRedguard -> rothwardoneNord - > nord (no change) You'll need to look in Data/Oblivion/Sound/Voice/(name of mod) and rename the folders. If the mod packages these folders inside a BSA, you'll have to extract them first using BSA Commander or Oblivion Mod Manager's BSA Browser. You won't have to repack them renaming (unless you want to). This will work if the custom race has its own recorded voices. I'm not sure if it will work if it re-uses voices from the game.
