Roscaria
I was looking for a mod that allows your characters to have a job, and found Professions by Kuertee using my web browser. For some reason it will not show up when browsing the files directly in Nexus, even when just using the name of the author I get two pages of their mods but this one is not included. Using 'Professions' just gets a 'no result'. I could only access this mod from my web browser. I have also left a message with the author after accessing the mod via my browser. It's not the first time this has happened with Nexus search, but just thought you may be interested. It gets quite frustrating at times.
LadyMilla
Strange, I was able to find it by simply entering the word 'Professions' in the Search field on Skyrim Nexus.
bben46
Google spent millions of dollars developing their search algorithms. Nexus is stuck with the far simpler search that came with the IP board software. Google search is a far better search engine than the one that came with the IP Board software we use. That is because search is what Google specializes in, while Nexus specializes in mods. The Nexus/IP Board search works fine for simple searches, but if you manage to misspell something, it will not find it - but Google will.
DrakeTheDragon
Provided you typed it correctly like LadyM did, did you also check your "Advanced search options" on the left if you're perhaps excluding any kinds of mods? Also advisable would be a check of your general "content blocking" tags selected in your preferences. You won't believe how many people already complained "This mod just disappeared! I can only see it when I'm NOT logged in!!", only for it later to turn out the mod they were missing had a tag assigned they were blocking/excluding! It's become the first thing I check / ask back by now.
JimboUK
Sometimes it's better to use Google, enter what you're looking for followed by site:siteurl Your search would have been.... "Professions site:http://www.nexusmods.com/Skyrim"
bben46
As Jim said, there are lots of things you can do using Google that are not a part of the Nexus search. Here is a link to a site that explains a few of them. http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/the-35-best-google-search-tips-and-tricks/ I use the conversion and define tricks often.
JimboUK
It works well for the imageshare, to get pictures of dragons you'd use.... dragons site:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images then hit the image tab on the results page.

All I had blocked were the translations other than English to be blocked for the search. However having stated that, when I read your post today I went back into the tag section and found above the translations two other items showing as tagged. One was for female character, the other for male, presumably this was the cause for Professions not being found? Seriously, I would swear blind they were not there before. <sigh> Thank you for the replies. In future I will triple check and log on and off Nexus to make sure this does not happen again.
