Silly Rant about image uploads

This is just a rant I wanted to create to get off my chest. I recently made a story that is currently in two parts, taking my time to share with the community but sometimes I feel under-appreciated when I see these ridiculous images getting 100% more endorsements than people who make amazing images/story's (I'm not saying my story is amazing, I haven't even gotten enough support or feedback to confirm weather or not I should continue because of this problem).

RoaringLight, as far as I remember, you mostly post male characters. It seems that male characters get less endorsements than female characters. I post both male and female characters, andmy female characters get way more endorsements than the male one (who I think is quite handsome).

Most female images are super endorsed (compared to males) and I have no problem with that....I only have a irritation attack when people that upload these females give them ridiculously skimpy clothing and body modifications and they topple over everyone else who are sharing beautiful scenery or other cool/interesting/handsome/pretty characters and screenies, the rules state that people aren't even suppose to be sporting skimpy stuff on the image section :pinch: . I don't like the fact that some few individuals are making the nexus look stereotypical, filled with people who cant keep their hormones in check.

its silly really, like I stated above someone who works hard for a nice screenie should get way more attention then someone who literally just uploads their female character in ridiculously scanty clothing, showing off their rack in the image section like its mardy gras.

It really all comes down to this. There is no accounting for popular taste. You can not control what others do or think-and to try will give you massive headaches, stomach ulcers and possibly night terrors (in this case of maybe giant boobs? lol)

I say the Serenity Prayer a great deal. It helps. a lot.

These aren't artistic though they are meant for people who would molest the endorse button with their junk  im not super upset that people do this, im just ranting after all but those that do should take it down a notch and let the people who are doing this for artistic purposes shine (People who upload screenies of handsome/beautiful characters and followers, environment scenery, the works)

I am not disagreeing with you here...really I wish it were as you speak sometimes. However this battle has been fought here for YEAR AND YEARS. At least as long as I have been here from 2008. Things are probably not going to change. You are not going to convince these people to pull it back nor do you want a throw down on what qualifies as "art" (and I should note it isn't the artistic imageshare, it is the image share.) This is why many image share folks link additional pictures in the descriptions or link to their SFW content on image share sites. So, unless it breaks the rules they aren't going to stop posting them and pushing the envelope on what they can get by with and not be moderated (and since I was a moderator here for several year I know of what I speak.) If someone gets really bad with posting size triple-Hindenburg boobs or something then ask a moderator or report it. They will review it as they can.

I do also realize this is largely blowing off steam. If it bothers you this much it likely will again and Fallout 4 is just a rock throw away. I give you this advice, and you can take it and use it as toilet paper...but I give it because I know and if you don't find a way to not be bothered as much it will drive you nuts eventually. If you like posting shots and seeing your friends work then stay cool and do what you can. The new site is being built and there is all kinds of talk about improvements and how we can get more sight to some mods that are not on the hotfiles (in which much the same argument as yours holds.) What would help otherwise niche authors get more views?

Last I may add, and you have not made me think this-it is because of the frequent endorsement fraud there sometimes is here, if someone lives and breathes by the endorsements they get then that is maybe something to think about. Wanting appreciation for something is fine and even good for a person. Wanting it so much that other things like, the joy in the art...well they lose out more than having to see some grossly over-enhanced women.

Oh come on, you don't get to decide what is art and what isn't and to suggest anything skimpy isn't art is ridiculous, you can go back further than classic paintings right back to some of the stuff cavemen painted on cave walls, "skimpiness" has been a part of art for 1000's of years.

Why not do something proactive? block those whose images you don't like, I do along with spammers. Friend people with similar tastes to yours and then you can go straight to their images from the notification. Start a Flickr group and limit it to the sort of thing you're interested in and invite like minded people to join. I like black and white images but they do tend to get lost in among the bright colour ones, rather than suggest people upload less colour ones or desaturate their images a little I started a group for black and white images, now a group of us have quite a collection there.

As for endorsements, they aren't worth worrying about, most of the time they're from friends, the more friends you have the more you'll get, in the imageshare they're more of a social thing than a reflection of quality.

Im not stating that skimpy images/paintings/art in general isn't art and if I wrote that I didn't mean it, I personally draw and paint my fair share naked men/women. I don't mind people who show a bit of skin on their characters, I'm talking about those who literally make images of 1 pixel wide thongs that cover nothing up

and ridiculously over sized breast/butt/(genitals?) and post it in the wrong area for talos only knows what reason. I have already done the "Block and report" escapade but a lot of people are on the nexus and I can't block every single image. I just don't like to see people who are actually putting lots of effort into their images and get shut off or thrown aside because one person wants to upload super skimpy content and completely ignore nexus guidelines. Theirs always a place for this content and people who want to upload these images (and nudity in general) should place it where it belongs.

Again this is just a rant I am not saying that people who upload this content are disgusting fiends that I hate, like I said I personally use CBBE and SOS. Men and woman are equally amazing but the regular image section for everyone isn't for nudity and people shouldn't be breaking the rules again just to upload scantily clad women for talos only knows what reason. The regular image section is for everything but that (and overly sexual content in general).

"Theirs a time and place for everything" people shouldn't be thrown under the bus because a handful of people don't want to follow the nexus guidelines.

As for endorsements, they aren't worth worrying about, most of the time they're from friends

I know your right in this regard but people are uploading these and bumping wonderful images back a few pages just for their scanty uploads...maybe I sound unreasonable and I know I cant change people but I'd like to see it placed where it belongs instead of the regular image section where people share their Characters/environments/storys etc etc.

Your advice is true/important I will take it as a gift rather than toilet paper haha, I did not know people do endorsement fraudulence.

I really enjoy uploading for everyone to see and im not ranting only in defense that no one pays attention to my uploads but rather those who give it their all and get thrown aside because these sexual images are being placed in the wrong area, I'd just like to see a nice separation of these two artistic views so that their is order rather than chaos among the community.
