BigBizkit
With all the mods available, it is definately possible to make ones game very "realistic". Maybe even way too "realistic". I am curious to know who of you have actually tried making their game "ultra immersive" with all kinds of mods that add necessities etc. and what were your experiences? JustATac0
does playing vanilla count as being immersively like Skyrim? xD
Moksha8088
I like the terms Ultra-Immersive and Lore-Friendly. I think I will apply them to every mod I try out, from pirate ships to gang fights. From amnesic blue cats to Dovah-Bears.
notmyhome
If I'm going for "Ultra-Immersive" I mostly try to play a hunter. I can be a bookworm in real life, too, but bowhunting is not allowed in my country :DSo, mostly Frostfall, Hunterborn, Hunting in Skyrim, Immersive Creatures (turning on "Purist" version in MCM), Loot & Degradation, iNeeds, Bandolier,... think that's about it. Boombro
Not me, but from another guy. Time scales like real lifeReading and crafting takes as much time as real life.Has all needs of an adult human.Perma death.Does not fight dragons and monsters.Always changes outfits. And many others. It sucked and the guy stopped after 50 hours. The funny thing is he wanted to be as close as the real world. So if a monster spawned, he drinks skooma and runs away. jpm22112
HiI love immersion and like to think my game fits the ultra tag.No hud mod (No hud, no compass , no map markers, no health stamina magic bars, no cross hair,no on screen notifications like level up or action prompts.)Dual combat realism mod (makes combat tougher with real stagger effects, tweaks to stamina and blocking)Frostfall (The cold skyrim weather actually changes how you play the game making you think about what your character is wearing, what route you take and what supplies you have)Pumping iron (Adds weight and muscle to your character through eating and sleeping after working out)Real shelter (stops the rain falling through solid objects like archways and bridges)Revenge of the enemies AI overhaul (Makes the NPC enemies more challenging and smart)Skytest (Makes the animals act more realistically for example wolves run away if you injure them, animals have to feed and seek out water, have baby animals)Lightening during thunderstorms (adds full blown lightening strikes that can cause damage and set fires)Wet & Cold (Npc's react to weather, snow sticks to clothing and body, frosty breath, snow blindness, weather effects players stats)TK Hitstop (the controller vibrates and screen shakes/blurs when striking with a weapon)TK Recoil (the controller vibrates and screen shake/blurs when shooting a bow)Height adjusted races (Makes all the races/sexes different heights for example elves are really small and giants are GIANT!)Non essential children (children can die)Wonders of weather (rain splashes, shooting stars, rainbows)Geared up (shows all you favourite weapons on you characters body)Realistic ragdoll force (bodies have realistic physics)Skyrim enhanced camera (in first person you can see your body, legs and shadow, also you die in first person) I basically add anything that brings depth and realism to the gane. I think there are things to be said for immersion-adding mechanics, but it's also important to consider the cost/benefit of mechanics on your gameplay. Ultimately, what matters is not how realistic your game is, but how enjoyable the gameplay is. You can easily add immersion to your game while making the gameplay less interesting. BigBizkit
That's a given. Really only Boombro and jpm22122 (to an extent) answered the questions. I wanted to know how enjoyable those who chose to make their game "ultra immersive" found their realistic skyrim experience.
Boombro
It not fun at all.I have played stuff close to that. If you wish for a gameplay full of action, it a bad idea. Mods needed to make it as close to real life will case a strain on the system too. Now I just run with a needs mod and maybe the new frostfall. There many other games that focus around such things better and run smoother.
KariganSkye
I first installed Realistic Needs and Diseases played a few hours with only that and find it with fun  than I was like "why only that mod, let's be in a total immersion." So I installed : - Wet & Cold- Frostfall- SkyRealism Emcumbrance- Reduce gold rewards for quests- Realistic Needs and Diseases (already said but still  )- Drinking fountains too- More Bandit Camps- Notice Board (today)- Player headtracking Those are the main mods I use  To explain how enjoyable I find those, well let's say that, to me, when you played the game for a long time, made those quests a lot time and won 1000 gold in a few minutes of gameplay you get bored. Well I got bored. The frostfall + wet and cold are really cool to feel the weather, to stop wandering around Winterhold in a bikini-armor and be like "How much ? - 35°c ? Oh no I'm okay thank you." I mean you actually change your gear depending on where you are on the map, it gives you more to think about. Of course with frostfall you can craft, you NEED to craft campfire and tents if you wish to survive through the blizzard which also makes you think twice before jumping into the freezing water to go kill that Ice Wraith thing or anything else. You need to prepare your journey. The Emcubrance is great in the way that with it the weight works in level, no more "I'm carrying tree heavy armors and five dragon bones without a problem." Now you have to choose what you're taking with you, you need to make a choice, no more farming on the bandits and with it no more gold falling from the sky  which, to me, gives the game a whole other perspective. That's why I installed Reduce gold rewards for quests, I can't farm side quests for nothing anymore. Now I need to know where I'm gonna sleep, what I'm gonna eat, I need to watch for diseases cause if I get skick I won't be able to walk fast nor fast travel if really need be, I need to learn Alchemy too so I know which flower to eat when needing stamina or curing poison. It's a "real" game to me now, I see Skyrim really differently. I hunt a lot since pelt are worth more than a pair of steel gauntlet, work sometimes at the mill cause I want to buy a horse and in the futur maybe some land to build my own house. IT'S A SECOND LIFE !! :woot: No I'm kidding but for real I do love immersion, it's great to enjoy the game as if you'd really be there  Oh and playerhead tracking is a bonus, I found it cool to actually have you're char looking at people that walk next to him/her or smile/frown when seeing a friend/foe. A tiny touch of immersion  In short I like the fact that every journey needs preparation, every septim is important and every piece of leather or torch is usefull cause you may never really know when you'll need heat and protection. I also play in expert so I don't rush into battle like a boss, approaching in a more sneaky way, never risks  But yeah I guess that if you like to play for the quests, a more "brutal" gameplay and the story before anything else well immersion is not for you  (TESV is already long and way longer while in immersion  )
