JimboUK
Th biggest issue I can see is not the graphics or processor requirements, it's the fact that it "requires" a 64bit OS. That right there is going to alienate 3/4 of their player base, as many people either don't want to, don't know how to, or can't afford to upgrade from 32 to 64 bit. I myself have a Dual Boot setup, one with 32bit Windows and one with 64, but the vast majority of the time I run the 32bit version, because there are still some programs that only work on a 32 bit platform, and their is no easy way to migrate from 32 to 64. The game requires 8GB of RAM, less than 4GB is usable in a 32-bit system so it wouldn't work anyway.
LivingSamosa
I doubt it requires specs this great I think I agree with Ben, they could be overstating for whatever reason, however looking at these http://www.highdefdigest.com/uploads/jb/fallout1.jpg I think you still need a decent graphics card. I find the character models still aren't as good as the rest of the new games. It seems that the skin textures and beards look really good! Moksha8088
64 bit OS requirement now means no 3.2 GB limit. 16 GB of RAM now sounds like it would be a good idea.

And I have seen nothing to support that yet. My guess is the engine is still the same old 32 bit Gambryo they have been using since Oblivion, But the game itself has grown so big that it takes up so much ram that you need the 64 bit OS to allow it to use more of the first 4G of ram - and that would also explain the 8G ram requirement. But it would be great if they did sneak a 64 bit game engine in on us.

At least XP OS users will not have to complain about not being able to download and install larger mods from the Nexus. My biggest concern is upgrading the NMM into something that will require a larger SSD and we will need the newest NMM for FO4 mods. Need to think about getting a newer video card at some point as well.

mopj
It's cinematic trailer, not gameplay. ))
bben46
@mopj: unfortunately many people just don't get that there is a difference between something uploaded by the marketing people to build hype and actual game play. And they are the ones that will be screaming they were ripped off when they play the actual game and it doesn't look like that cinematic trailer created on a full blown maxed out $20,000 development system by professionals , with any bad looking parts cut, and many hours of post processing cosmetic work thrown in. If they haven't figured it out it is just advertising, and like all advertising, intended to get your attention and make you want the product they are selling. Tony the Wookie
I'm just happy to have some more reference to how the power armor comes goes on.
Puddycat
Those specs have got me panicking incase i can't run it. Firstly i'm confused that the Intel vs AMD vs Nvidia requirements seem so wildly different. To say they took so long to announce them, i really wouldn't have expected them to be so half assed. It's like they just closed their eyes and stuck a pin in one. Hoping they are airing on the side of caution though, and i'm gonna try and run it with my i3 4160. Upgrading aint an option right before Christmas and there's no way i'm going back to console gaming (and no mods hehe)
