Crashing when I approach Springvale School

Whenever I approach Springvale school, my game crashes and my computer tells me that fallout 3 has stopped responding

This is my load order

Your load order is a mess and it looks like one that was sorted by LOOT. Go to the FWE mod page and look at the sample load order provided by the FWE authors and correct yours.

 

Compatibility patches must always load after the last mod that is being patched.

I'm having the same issue when I approach Springvale School. I'm new to modding, so no need to tell me what a mess my load order is in. Trust me, I've spent quite a bit of time trying to get it right, using several different "suggested" load orders, and I'm sure it's still not right, just because of my lack of knowledge. I've watched Gopher's videos, I've tried LOOT and fo3edit, and am still having some trouble. This is what I currently am using. This order is based mainly on the FWE suggested order, not LOOT:

Are you sure you used LOOT correctly? Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm should be after Zeta.

 

Moreover, delete all your merged patches. You're supposed to have one and one only; and it's supposed to be at the end.

 

There's a merged version of MMM there: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/16787/? only download 6.1 for the meshes/textures/sound folders

Do not use LOOT for Fallout 3. It will not sort the files correctly.

 

Remove all of the disabled files. If the mod is in the "Data" folder, it will be loaded in the game.

 

Look over you load list and explain why you are trying to restore all tracers and restore tracers only to automatic weapons. This doesn't work. It is one or the other.

 

You need a compatibility patch for Mart's Mutant Mod to work with FO3 Wanderer's Edition. Blackened is the best one http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/18173/?

 

You have to read and understand the requirements in order to use Blackened and Mart's properly.

 

Did you ever run the game without mods? Did you add the mods one at a time as noted here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/652876-fallout-3-modding-and-you/

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate your input. I did adjust my load order by your suggestions, deleted unused files, installed patches, etc. My game is still crashing when loading. I'll go through and see if any mod in particular is causing a crash, I'm just vey fuzzy on which files work well with each other. For instance, I'm using the Chromatic Melancholy ENB, and used his list of mods as a suggestion. But some of that doesn't even make sense when I read about which mods are compatible with each other. Here is my current load order.

Disable and uninstall, these are part of FO3 Wanderer's Edition.

 

A crash during loading is usually caused by a missing master. Open your mod manager, left click on each mod and the required masters will be displayed. Depending on which mod manager your are using, the display will usually be on the right.

The problem was that I didn't have my Archive Invalidation Activated. Every time I tried, my game crashed. I was able to fix it by deleting this file:

hud_main_menu.xml

 

From This Directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 3 goty\Data\menus\main

 

I'm not sure what negative effects this might have, but for now it seems to have fixed all my issues.
