mustardman
Hey all, I'm just curios about how many people are really role playing in Oblivion now days. I know when i first got the game all I could focus on was sending Mehrunes Dagon back to the firey pits of Oblivion. Now that I've done that a couple times, I've found myself really delving into the communitys of Cyrodiil. Like right now I'm Knight Errant of the White Stallion, and me and Mazoga are going on raiding parties for black bows and such. I spend alot of time around the lodge, reading literature I pick up on my ventures, going to the chapel and such. That is'nt what I consider a whoot'n hollering good time, but I'm playing the knight, and I'm just waiting to stumble upon my next venture. 1. A Am I the only one who does this now that the main story is put aside? 2. What type of person are you in Cyrodiil Thanks for any responses, Im just wondering if I'm insane and the only one who gets so involved in the elder scrolls, I did this in Morrowind too, tho it got boring fast with the dull AI. I LOVE THE ELDER SCROLLS!!! ;D
Povuholo
I did it a bit. I once took Jauffre's face, changed his hair and pulled the age slider all the way to the left (young), and imported the face to my character. I was Jauffre's son. It was fun to use Blades equipment only. I also used a companion mod which allowed me to recruit anyone. I forgot the name. Anyway, I took one of the (female) blades with me on my travels. But things weren't as fun as with Morrowind. Probably because I still and will always think Morrowind is a better game. One example from Morrowind: I played a mage who was obsessed with daedra and the dwemer. He collected all the dwemer books and papers he could find, and placed them on a large table. Of course Keening and Sunder where there too. It'll be fun to try roleplaying oblivion again when this mod is stable and finished.
Concilliator
personally i always delay the main quest till the end usually doing all the guild quests firsts then exploring city quests and dungeon hopping--- as per roleplaying i never really stick to something and say this guy will be so and so -- I just try to experience all the content i can on my one character which means i try to take over everything i can whatever guild or thing i can get rank in i join it and do it . :o wru si
Tiberiu911
I was roleplaying in my latest game. But it bored me after 15 hours of game play (walking all the time, sleeping at night, only carrying what I need...). I reenabled fast travel and returned to my old ways. But I still like to walk around from time to time.
mustardman
Cool Im liking these awesome responses, I'm also intested in hearing some of your guys's stories or adventures that you've had while not on a quest, for example, this is kinda silly but anyways, i was in a bear den once, and the huge brown bear emerged from the shadows and scared the crap outta of me. So to escape i dove into a depp pool of water that was nearby, luckily i was wearing my Blackmarsh Helm, which gifted me to breathe water. Anyways the bear was swimming to me and he got tangled in some roots that were in the water. So i just had to wait for the ppor thing to drown. Sad but when you need to escpe death, sometimes your enviorment is your best ally. Cool story i think. Im intrested in some of your stories too if oyu have any.

Parkillous
I tried roleplaying a few times... never really worked... tbh NPC's need to have their own motivations, aspirations and goals, not just be puppets to what i want... Probably the only times i was ever truly (or almost) immersed would be the white stallion quests (especially with the mod out for it), the attack on Kvatch and to a lesser extent the cheydinal quest during which you bring ulrich down... mainly because they had a little of the above: mazoga had her own agenda, the captain of kvatch was far more concerned with his city than you, you merely helped... other soldiers helped and died etc... and in the last one you had multiple views on the issue from the dunmer chick, ulrich, and the honest soldier... etc etc etc
skullmosher
The first time I played OB I was immediately disappointed with the quests. Not just a few, but all of them. Every single one makes the player out to be some kind of rube. It was insulting. So I abandoned the quests, mostly, except where I need to "unlock" access to something (like the Mage's Guild so I can enchant and make custom spells). I finally completed the MQ for the first time just last week. Seriously. Had the game a year and just now finished it. My character was an alchemist (I get all my buffs and protection from potions). So naturally I took all the daedra hearts I could. While I was doing this a strange thing happened. I often found myself pushing/pulling the piled up dremora bodies around so I could properly search them and take their hearts. And then it hit me. I was cutting out their hearts! It's not like they kept the things in a pouch or a knapsack. This was their heart. And I had hundreds of the things. Somehow, after that revelation, the "goodness" factor in closing oblivion gates became much darker. Here I was, running around blasting daedra with mass damage frost spells and cutting their hearts out so I could make potions to drink. It was all very sick at that point. I no longer went into oblivion to close the gates. I killed every thing I found, took their body parts and went back to Tamriel. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. After a few days all the critters would respawn within the gate and I could collect more hearts. I have about four thousand at the moment, not counting the thousand or so I turned into potions. So, uh, yeah... I roleplay...
Yndifall
I do roleplay and since all my character do end up assassins I decided to make a valiant hero. I was a bit stuck on inspiration so I decided to make a Pelinal Whitestrake incarnate, and amass all that was lost after my death.Having the Knights of the Nine expansion was what really inspired me, so now I roleplay helping people and and thwarting evil. I especially like slaying vampires. Scum of th earth in Pelinals view.
