Over the many years Fallout New Vegas has been out there has been a lot of race mods, however only seems to be one alien race (that I can find) that was only male. So I come here seeking help (partially because I am no good at modeling/texturing) from the community for a female alien race, more so since I've seen this alien redesign ( http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/60611/? ) which I would like the race to look like. I understand all normal armors will not work with the race, I am happy with the different styles of the alien armor in this redesign mod. what would also need to be done (not exactly sure if this is or isn't an issue) would be the race holding and use all the different weapons you normally could hold and use correctly. (sneaking, aiming, reloading, sitting etc..)Though that may be true, I've seen a modder (Smileytops) do a good race mod working without some of the idles with his Playable Super Mutant race. Seeing as Super Mutants cant (or rather not seen sneaking or sitting). I believe this race is more possible than that due to there being legit sitting animation for aliens plus aliens have animations for holding both handguns (the alien blaster) and rifles (the alien disintegrator and tri-beam laser rifle) as well as single handed melee weapons (shock baton). One could make an animation for looking down the sights I'm sure seeing as there's a mod for that in Fallout 3, when there are no true iron sights in that. Reloading a ballistic weapon such as 9mm pistols or hunting rifles and marksman carbines may look wierd when just giving the alien race but can be done...not pretty but possible. I believe they already have reload animations that work with energy weapons given the weapons they normally use. As for sneaking if its not possible to give them a crouching animation (which sounds possible to do, for a race that is close to that of the playable races) but if not..could just give them a stealth field (they are aliens, would sound right to have tech like that like in zeta...or just stealth boy field) (None of this is meant to come off rude, just explaining/giving ideas and such) Edited October 15, 2015 by BADshadow5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In the state in which it is uploaded to Nexus, it is impossible to make a playable race. Missing too much stuff. I guess I figured since it was just a retexture/redesign of the race that all you would REALLY need to do was work with the vanilla alien itself due to it being a "retexture" (thinking everything that the original alien race has would have been done in it to make it work with no missing animations and such [based in the pics it seems a lot is there but idk myself] plus the fact in the download files in said mod has modders resources incase one would like to do something like my request) not thinking that there may be a lot of things missing that one would need to deal with. (and of course with Fallout 4 coming a lot of modders probably won't be doing much for New Vegas much longer) Still I could hold out hope for someone to do it, always wanted to do an alien run (but I always play female so yeah).
