Bond123
I suggest the rating system be removed. Comments are enough to make a judgement. I am removing my new mod "Star Ship Orion" at 10 PM this evening because it has gained a trash rating. People see that rating and click right on by, because it indicates a trash mod with problems. New downloads went into the dumper the minute that 8/10 rating showed. It's not a trash mod. It has been carefully vetted and is as problem free as any major mod can be. It didn't win all the awards it holds for nothing. I may repost it here in future...but I'm not letting it set there in the "Trash Mod" category. Marxist ßastard
You're worried about people not downloading your mod... And so you delist it from a download site. Makes perfect sense to me. EDIT: http://tessource.net/files/images/Star%20Ship%20Orion-5.jpg I smell trash.
Dark0ne
No idea what you're going on about. 8/10 is fine from only 7 votes. If people vote low for your mod it's because they didn't like or approve of it -- if you can't take criticism them you definately shouldn't be making your mods available to the public. Bond123
I think you are quite correct, it shouldn't be listed here, because the downloads have nearly ceased, By the immature nature of the comments, I am assuming it was they who rated the mod because they want something different. Something different would have fared no better. I'll remove it. Thank you. Bond
Dark0ne
I'm really confused about why you're complaining. Your mod is now 9 out of 10. Are you saying that, unless everyone rates your mod 10 out of 10, it isn't worth posting? I think you are quite correct, it shouldn't be listed here, because the downloads have nearly ceased, After the first two days it's logical that it won't get as many downloads since it's off the latest files/news pages. Now you'll just be getting people who are actually looking for a mod like yours downloading it.
ResidentWeevil2077
In some ways I agree with Bond123 in that the rating system may (at times) be a little misleading. I understand that some immature d/lers might decide it's fun to post degrading comments and give lower ratings on a file that they think is junk, when in fact, the mod in question could actually be kick a$$. I don't see a reason why Bond123 removed his (or her, perhaps ;) ) mod just because its rating wasn't quite what the author was expecting (hell, a 5/10 is good enough for me!). However, I think that having a rating can tend to be misleading, especially if the mod had been uploaded for some time (at least 3 wks), AND the rating was based solely upon what someone else deemed as "crap". Abramul
A 'disallow ratings' option might not be unwelcome. I'd certainly use it on anything I release, as I prefer that those downloading be directly referred by someone.
elpiggo
If you disallow the ratings, people might think you're trying to avoid criticism, and think that you would agree that the mod is bad, which wouldn't be good.
Povuholo
If you disallow the ratings, people might think you're trying to avoid criticism, and think that you would agree that the mod is bad, which wouldn't be good. You won't avoid criticism, since you can still post comments. And comments are better than a 1-10 rating, because they aren't anonymous and people can't walk in and say 'It sucks' without giving arguments. Bond123
It may be the same little sniper that just got me at PES with a 3.5 rating....because he didn't like my meshes. So there it sits with a 7.75. At least they have to reveal themselves. That isn't so destructive...downloader can take a look and consider him an idiot.
