AlexZander40
Possibly one of your RAM sticks is failing. I was getting some similar CTD and BSOD playing Wasteland 2 and Pillars of Eternity. Thought maybe my 6 year old hard drive was flaking out. So I finally bought a SSD and did fresh install of OS and games. Still ended up getting CTD with Wasteland 2 and POE. So I ended up buying some new sticks of RAM and that fixed the problem.
BlueGunk
I laid my hands on Visual Studio Community 2015 which has DMP debugging and I'm tracking two potential issues - one might be my sound drivers, the other may be skse_1_9_32.dll. At least it is a start. I wonder if the Win 10 update hit one of them. I'm keeping digging - a bit of a learning curve this debugging...
BlueGunk
Replaced sound drivers. No change. The ENBLocal alteration did not help, either. I am stumped! I have done everything I can think of to track the cause of this issue, including resetting my pagesys file. I am stumped. Does anyone have any experience of a mod that is notorious for doing this? I don't think it is a memory chip fault because I have absolutely no other problems on this PC. I've just run into a brick wall. It is only Skyrim. The moment I hit save - bang. CTD with this every time: Process Name: TESV.exe : F:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\TESV.exeProcess Architecture: x86Exception Code: 0xC0000005Exception Information: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.Heap Information: Not Present I have only hints on debugging the DMP that dsound.dll or SKSE 1_9_32.dll may be involved. the CTD is progressive - if I roll back a few saves I have a stable game until 5-6 saves later when it's CTD. Grateful and thanks!
BlueGunk
Well, I have to give up. I have tried everything in my not-so-small box of tricks. I noticed a similar, older thread on exactly this topic that had some tips and I tried those, too. I'll leave this parked here in case anyone has a bright idea. thanks for looking in! I'm off for a full re-start of my game (yet again - Helgen here I come...) but this time I'm going to use Mod Organiser for better control. BlueGunk
And two attempts at a full re-game - I still reach the same fault. usually around save 130. Yet all my mods I have used before. They are good solid mods. My only concern is that XPMSE v 3.2 raises a regular error in scripting that a script scalpel shows is a duplicate flag being raised at the same instant by that mod. That script was thrashing into a stack overflow that might have been one of the causes of the error, So I've upgraded to his newer version (however I still see that error coming in.) Any ideas appreciated. Thanks!
BlackJaack
I'm having the same issue, whenever the game saves (doesn't matter whether it's saving through menu, console, quicksave, or autosave) it crashes to the desktop, I've had it since early yesterday, both times around level 15, save 24, yesterday it happened inside goldenglow estate doing the thieves guild quests, I couldn't find any way to fix it and ended up fully reinstalling the game and all mods yesterday, today shortly after leaving goldenglow it started again. I've tried everything I can think of or find nothing has worked to fix it so far...
AnaeCapalini
Mine is just freezing during the save, no CTD. I'm at save 272 of the same game, no changes in mods or mod order in quite a while. Is it possible to have too many saved games?
BlueGunk
Well, I don't know. In the end I threw out my old PC and bought a new one so I'll see how that goes. My old machine had a weak AMD cpu and it's possible it just could not handle the through-put of an increasingly complex save. Interestingly Win 10 has recently had a huge update that reinstalled most of the OS. Perhaps there was a flaw in Win 10 itself?
BlackJaack
Mine was happening in windows 7, I decided to stop both auto and quicksaving and only manual save (I used to abuse quicksaving) while also keeping my manual saves count fairly low and it worked. DarkWaterRebellion
I'm having the same problem. Crashes at every Save but only after I reinstalled Skyrim LE... before i reinstalled I had different issues that the reinstallation seemed to have resolved but now here's this new problem I'm not sure how to handle... My only solution seems to be to go back and retrace the installation method of every mod i've downloaded and make sure I did everything correctly. :(
