Hello guys!

I make this topic because: First, I'm a huge fan of jeremy soule's work and I'm crazy in love with TES' serie.

First Music: The main theme, the famous one composed by Jeremy Soule, that's the sound of all the Elder Scrolls serie:

--> As you can hear, there's a huge orchestration with a real symphonic orchestra and a man's choir. This sounds very Epic... Love it ;)

This one has been unveiled the december 12th in the first trailer of the game.

Second music: This one is an ambiant music, we can feel a dark ambiance. But it sounds heroic to me due to the presence of some Major chords. But music's range is overall grave :

--> This music has been unveiled on january as the background of the Time-Laps video.

And The last one: "Thu'um Do Markarth" here

--> So, This one is not official yet, but it sounds like Jeremy Soule's Work! I'm sure of that.

  1. 1: The Title seems to be written with the dragons' language. I can see that, because first It sounds similar ^^ and because "Thu'um" means: The Voice. But I don't understand the next part.. Can someone help me?

  2. 2: That's a typical orchestration: a lot of woodwinds and a lot of Brass sections just like in Jeremy Soule's work. It sounds epic... beautyful. I realy realy hope it will be in the game...

Any comments?

I'm with you. I love Soule's work...even the ones outside of the Elder Scrolls (Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, etc.).

I think the main theme for Skyrim is the most epic sounding one he's done so far. Morrowind and Oblivion's themes were great, too, in their own way. For some reason, though, this one takes the cake. I'm not sure if it is because it is new, or if it has some element (namely the choir) that the others did not have. Whatever the case, this track is a masterpiece.

The environmental track released with the time-lapse video is awesome as well. It has a wonderful, intense, and full sound. I hope many of Skyrim's tracks follow this style.

The last one I'm not sure about. You're right about the title...the dragon language fits the piece. I'm pretty sure it means "The Voice of War." Markarth is where Tiber Septim founded the Imperial College of the Voice, so that shouts could be used as a form of warfare. Like you said, it sure sounds like Soule, but there was no official announcement of this track. This is what makes me skeptical. The piece sounds a lot like something that Hans Zimmer or even John Williams would do, so it may be a hoax. I hope not.

I'm very impressed with what he has compiled for Skyrim. I've always loved throaty harmonic chants of nordic music portrayed in movies, etc. He has definitely set the mood for the game.
