Revenge096
Ok so I did basically everything I could to fix save with 1 of my 4 characters. I did all the ini tweaks, all the performance mods like stable grids, enb boots, memory patches etc. I cleaned save with 2 save cleaners and also used to tes5edit to clean my mods, but there's no effect. I have exactly 8586 saves with 4 characters. Game is running stable on the "fresh" 3 and even on the fourth - my first character it's stable, the only problem I have with it is some of the powers are activating like 1 min after I use them. Of course some of them are just a necessary requirements for other mods to work, so yeah... What I would like to know - which mods should I uninstall to fix this script lag ? And it is even possible to fix it? Or should I give up on this character ?
jones177
Hi I have a few more mods than you & I manage script lag by staying close to 60fps as possible. I have a 4k monitor & I can run Skyrim with ENB at 30fps with the screen at 3840 X 2160. At that frame rate I get script lag with my mod setup so I play Skyrim at 2560 X 1440 at close to 60fps. I do make a few compromises in my game to keep the frame rate up. I don't use depth of field in ENB. Good for 10fps.I have shadows set to medium. good for 4fpsI us ugrid 5 instead of 7. Good for 7fpsI use multi thread tweaks in the SkyrimPrefs.iniI use Papyrus tweaks in the Skyrim.ini I also us mods that remove meshes & reduce textures that are not seen by the player. I have found that one script heavy mod can put my game over the edge & get lag so you my not have to remove much. One of the big problems with script heavy mods is that it my trash your save removing them. Most have uninstall guides on their pages. I recommend you make a test save to experiment with. You can us the console to add a name to a save (~ save testsave) or turn your characters back to the camera on a save so you can easily remember it. I use a different save setup than you do. I only use 3 saves per character. One is the first save & the other two I leap frog. I have no trouble with quick or auto saves so I have always something to fall back on. Jannifer
The only way to truly uninstall a scripted mod is to go back to a save from before you installed the mod. Because of the way Skyrim stores script information, "there is no such thing as a clean save." (from the Skyrim official CK Wiki) So, what I'm saying is that even if you uninstall a scripted mod, it's not likely to help you at this point. I'm afraid that you may have lost that particular character unless you have a good earlier save. I play Skyrim on an abacus, and I will run into problems. So, I manage my saves differently. I use the console to create a save for each level a character gains as well as a save with just the character's name. The name save and the latest level save I leapfrog. I don't use any auto saves except the save on character menu, and I have that set to save at 5 minutes. What this means is that when I access the character (tab) menu, if I haven't saved in the last 5 minutes, then the game creates a new save. At any given time, I will have at least 8 saves for each of my characters -- the current level, the name save and the 6 previous levels. When I had to uninstall DynaVision, those extra saves let me keep all of my characters because I had good saves from before I installed the mod. All this is pretty much falls under the category of locking the barn door after the horse was stolen, but I hope it helps you in the future. I feel your pain at losing a character you've invested so much time into.
Revenge096
Thanks for the replies guys. I acutally managed to fix it a bit. Just like 2 days ago when I decided to install ENB I learned that if you're using mod organizer you need to use it's ini editor and edit it's own ini files. Earlier I was editing those in my documents, that's why I couldn't see any difference. And I made some changes for ENB but thanks to first reply I just realized that I also need to rewrite those old ini tweaks for papyrus for example. After I did it I finally managed to reduce this script lag, after changing those : fUpdateBudgetMS= fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS= I read a lot about those and seen people chaning it for some crazy values like 800 for example. When I set for 800 I had exactly 1.5 fps, but the value which worked for me with stable fps is 50. Script are still lagging but it's playable atleast. If I change it to higher value it will reduce lag even more, but I will also lose more fps. With 50 I can play with my orignal 50-60 fps which I should have, if I change it to 60-70 I will get 40-30 fps etc. Hope this will help someone in future. Thanks again for help.
