I can't get Fallout 4 to load. I have F4SE 0.3.0 and Fallout 4 1.9.4 and it won't load right. When I load F4SE it goes to the launcher. When I press play, it loads the launcher again. I disabled all my mods and it still does it. I tried to rename the F4SE loader to the Fallout 4 Launcher and it didn't work either. I verified the game cache and restarted fallout 4 and it won't work. Not sure what else I should try and what else someone would need to help me. I had had 1.8.7 (?) of the dll still there but that wasn't the problem because after I deleted it it still didn't work.

I think I had this problem before. You could try going to the properties of the f4se loader, under the compatibility tab, check the "Run this program as an administrator" box. ..In my experience, when I double-click the f4se loader, Steam starts, the launcher comes up and I hit exit. Then the next time I double-click the f4se loader, the game launches. ..kind'a weird, but it works.

:D Thank you it works now.

If Steam isn't running when you first run f4se_loader.exe, it will launch Steam and use the regular launcher. Not sure why, but it always happens. If Steam is already running, it works fine.

Steam has been running before I open the F4SE loader. It just always loads the launcher when I press play. It never goes to the game.

Hi,

I'd like to report a bug in F4SE.

If you use mods that add custom volume sliders so that there are more than about 9 or 10 sliders, any additional volume slider settings do not save across save games. This problem is absent when not using F4SE (I tested v0.3.0) with Fallout 4 v1.9.4.0.1.

For example, using the mods "True Storms" + "Reverb and Ambient Overhaul" + "radBirds" (each mod adds 2 more volume sliders, so there were 6 vanilla and 6 new sliders in total), when using F4SE the two sliders for True Storms kept resetting to default across save games, but there was no such issue when using the vanilla F4 executable without F4SE installed.

1.9.4.0.1 is 1.9.4. Just like it says on the f4se page, ignore everything beyond the first 3.

http://f4se.silverlock.org/

Compatibility:
F4SE will support the latest version of Fallout available on Steam, and _only_ this version. When a new version is released, we'll update as soon as possible: please be patient. Don't email asking when the update will be ready; we already know the new version is out. The editor does not currently need modification, however when available a custom set of .pex/psc files must be installed.

0.3.0 is compatible with runtime 1.9.4. You can ignore any part of the version number after those components; they're not relevant for compatibility purposes.

Is there a way to get the previous version? I'm not interested in the slightest in the 1.9 update for Fallout because mods do a far better job. I had to make a fresh install of Fallout and forgot to backup the FO4SE for version 1.8.

The 1.9.4 patch and the high resolution texture pack are separate entities. You can get the patch without the texture pack. Otherwise, there is an archive link on the silverlock page

Ok, i have never had a problem with my SE until today. Idk why but whenever i try to run fo4se it takes me to the game launcher. tried running as admin, tried making sure steam was open, tried disconnecting from the internet, reinstalling fo4se, and running from the installation folder,

i have no idea why this is happening.

odd thing is that i was playing the game for most of the day and closed it so i could make myself something to eat, suddenly it won't run

Steam does maintenance on Tuesday evenings, so it could have been that they had some extra issues that disconnected users. It's usually just the match-making and some game services that are down, but they've had some kersplosions on maintenance night before.

If that wasn't it, try restarting steam, make sure it's connected, and try to run the official launcher once (then close the game and start with f4se_loader as normal). If steam isn't open or connected (not connected isn't the same as offline mode in this instance) then F4SE will open the vanilla game launcher instead.

I'm sure you figured this out by now, but I just had this happen again and all you have to do is restart Steam.

First off, I appreciate all the work and effort that has gone into F4SE. I've been using it for at least a year.

I stream Fallout 4 over my home network from a powerful host computer to a weak laptop that connects to my TV. I use an Xbox Elite Controller with a wireless adapter hooked to the laptop. I have a Logitech wireless mouse that I can switch between computers even though the distance is a floor away. I used to be able to launch Fallout 4, alt-tab with the mouse after the launcher popped up, then double click on the F4SE launcher to launch Fallout 4. The controller, mouse, and laptop keyboard took input for the game with no problem. A couple of months ago suddenly the controller no longer works if F4SE is launching Fallout 4. The mouse and laptop keyboard do not work in the game either. If I walk up to the host computer, I can use the mouse set to host, controller plugged into the host and that keyboard without problem. If I launch Fallout 4 without F4SE, I can use mouse, laptop keyboard, and wireless controller hooked to client with no problems.

I keep trying to blame the problem on Steam's streaming or something other than F4SE, but I'm only locked out from input if I launch F4SE with Fallout 4. For awhile I lived without F4SE, but it's nagging me that it was working, and now it is not. I reinstalled Fallout 4, all mods, F4SE, etc., but the problem persists. I had accidently copied over the src folder and the Data/Scripts folder in the last installation of F4SE. I deleted the src folder, but the issue is still there. I didn't mess with the scripts directory because it was populated with files from other than F4SE.

Does anyone have any advice or ideas on where I might look to solve this problem? I feel like I'm missing something, but I'm just not seeing it. Thanks.
