Just doing this again in the right section of the forum, which before didn't exist (they just created it). So here I'm requesting again for a

Fallout 4 Centered 3rd person camera mod

Bethesda never learns, so the modders are required again year after year, title after title, for this obvious addition.

(Previous topic was already much discussed, imho you can continue there if you prefer, but this section will become the correct one and this mod needs to be requested here too: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3368530-centered-3rd-person-camera-mod/)

I whole heartedly agree. The first thing I tried to mod was the 3rd person camera by trying some settings from Skyrim's ini. These are NOT necessarily the same in Fallout 4.

[Camera]
fOverShoulderAddY=0.0000
fOverShoulderPosZ=10.0000
fOverShoulderPosX=0.0000 --------this is the setting that controls the camera offset when unarmed
fOverShoulderCombatAddY=0.0000
fOverShoulderCombatPosZ=10.0000
fOverShoulderCombatPosX=0.0000

But when I added them to both ini's in the Documents folder as well as the default ini in the game folder, it only threw my aim off, and the camera was still offset. I need to find out what ini(s) need to be modified, there are 3 of them plus a 4th called "Fallout4Custom". I'm not sure what they all do yet.

Well the only file that needs to be adjusted is the Fallout 4.ini main file. I messed around with these settings yesterday on Fallout 4 and discovered that they don't slide the camera, they swing it.

  • AddY determines forward and back position in a sliding manner
  • PosX rotates the camera around the player horizontally
  • PosZ tilts the camera around the player vertically

The game may have some new settings that need to be adjusted, if that's the case than it should be a simple ini tweak. Otherwise, it'll have to be modded. I'm going to poke around as much as I can, I'm not really a modder but I'm pretty desperate to get this one.

Really wish this was just a freaking option, by the time i get to 'play' the game, it'll come out as a GOTY version.

First person is ok i spose, but 3rd (proper not this lopsided headache s#*!) person is how i feel fo's should be played(since fo3)

And ffs why do they keep trying to force it on us? is it a 'keep force feeding it and eventually they will like it' mindset?
