Power Armor begs for Shoulder Cannons and Shoulder Rocket Pods!

Lets just face it, Power Armor is a huge step up in Fallout 4 than any previous iteration. So much so that it rightfully feels like a vehicle that you get into like a tank to cause devastation. But I feel that its design in theory is dated.

I have come to the realization that the power armor has huge amounts of potential. Im a big fan of weapon systems on vehicles like the rocket pods on a Apache gunship, or in tanks, or even our beloved predator.

Point is, I imagine that power armor can have its own computer and weapons systems for auto targeting or at the bare minimum have dumb fire rocket pods mounted on its shoulder.

The list can go on and on but I think the idea of having the power armor itself as a weapon is a facinating thing. Just like a real aircraft like an apache has a limited amount of ammo and has to fly back to base and rearm, we could bring our power armor back to base and rearm it as well because in the field we will only have a limited amount of ammo for our devastating weapons.

The weapons systems can be automatic like shown in this video of mass effects destroyer class or they can be controlled by the player but I think have both options would be essential, especially if you are controlling your weapon in your hands.

Bottom Line: I would love to see this added in the DLC and I think there might still be time for something like this to be included. If Bethesda puts the mechanic in, Im sure modders can take it and expand upon it.

Yes PREDATOR style energy weapons(with a stylish transformers style eject and sound.)

jetpack or boots beg for hovering (press ones)for super explosive jump ( press twice)

Though predator stealth PA would be OP I think.

( though far off in the future but maybe before 2077)

I feel it is needed to give power armor an incentive. Because a lot of players like myself do not use power armor. I mean it is cool, it is big, it has lots of armor. It's very appealing when we first look at FO4. But after all these years, I only get into Power Armor for fun, as a novelty thing. There has never been any moment where I wish I really had a power armor. I mean, unlike real life, it is no penalty for us to carry a gigantic weapon like a minigun. So if I want a minigun, I use a minigun. If I want a gauge rifle I use a gauge rifle. In real life, I wouldn't survive 10 minutes carrying a minigun around (if one exists for personal use).

My experience with power armor remains with the first encounter in Concord. I am never used to seeing my HP bar (as a dial). We automatically presume that we are safe inside the armor until armors start to fall off, at least from ballistic damage. I can believe enemies can burn us alive like the case of tanks. In WW2, with enough fire, tank crews had to evacuate their tanks simply because of smoke and heat. That's not to say it's easy to burn out a tank, but they are certainly not immune.

Power armor is a cumbersome armor (not like Ironman) that is sometimes too big to get to places, and is always too loud with the footsteps. But with an awesome load of armaments or ability that we cannot have outside of power armor, I would be certainly drawn to a power armor, like a tank, but a very agile tank.

P/S: They should make power armor to have permanent jetpack to assist with jumping and landing to make it more believable. How do you jump that high in power armor? And when you fall, the jetpack should ease the fall impact so you can be totally harmless. They should work that in as an animation. To be able to fly, you have to upgrade the jetpack with enough power to .... fly.
