SomethingCrazy
With the player character now having a voice, what does this mean for future quests mods and modders? What potential workarounds could we expect?Do you agree with Bethesda's choice with adding a voice to the player character? Just curious as to what everyone else thinks of this. Personally I think they did a good job on the voice acting for the male PC (haven't tried the female) but I think it's a mistake. I feel the voice projects too much of a specified character on you and really dumbs down the dialogue in general. Props to Brian Delaney though, he did a great job overall. I'm really unsure how this will affect any mods where the PC may enter dialogue with another character. What are your thoughts on this?
cyberhoundMkII
Not much there is to say about this, it's pretty obvious that all the new content from modders won't be dubbed, can't help it. If someone tries to fix character dialogues, then dub will have to be removed completely. I think it won't do the game any harm. It is nice to have dubbing, but in this particular game it doesn't fit. You are supposed to be whatever you want to be, but the character is pretty much defined all the way to the core. The choices in the game are also extremly bad, you can either be Jedi good, a beggar that tries to talk people into giving him caps, or a douchebag that offends people without any deeper motive. It is like written by a teenager, so it begs for modding. I would prefer decent written dialogue 1000 times over this cheesy b grade movie voice over. The biggest problem with this dub is that the guy is over reacting, while the game model has barely any emotions on it's face and it creates this huge disparity and cheesiness. Arcky
Mods probably will have to do without a voiced PC, unless there are people who can do really good imitations of both main characters, but that's extremely unlikely. Here I am, just hoping Elder Scrolls VI won't have a voiced PC. It kinda interferes with my role-playing, as it makes me lean towards good options rather than right ones for said character. I'm just sad that Fallout 4 doesn't have the deep and ambiguous quests that 3 and NV had :(
QuidProQuoBrute
There are so many voice lines in the game, many could be reused for quests. It of course isnt a perfect solution, but if the mod author does a good job with writing, it could certainly be plausible. I've also heard rumors of unused dialog that could be used
Boombro
It better for everyone to stay unvoiced.
