DustyDuckDustin
I've never modded, but I used to be all about modding games about 10 years ago, with some of the older ES games and other games in general. Getting a radio station in game doesn't seem too hard? I think it's just going to be time consuming recording everything. Anyone have experience with this? I have some nice ideas that I'd like to bring to life with the help of some of you vets.
Dhegonus
Currently there isn't a known way to make a new station. But you can replace the current station with your own music etc. You need to extract the sound bsa and follow the directories to the files needing to be edited, put ion the new files then make sure you name the recordings the same as the original. A simple swap job essentially. That is the only viable way currently.
jeriam
Oh, I'm not the only one interested in adding new radio stations, I guess!
WubWuv
Currently, you can replace the songs in the different stations, I submitted a mod already to do just that. Does anyone know on average how long it takes for a Mod to get approved?
jeriam
Yeah, I've seen such things already, but replacing the soundtrack doesn't feel right by me =/ Wait and see!
bben46
Most of these try to upload copyrighted music - that will be removed as we cannot legally allow copyrighted music to be uploaded here. That can get you banned.Nearly all music is copyrighted either by the original artist or some big music company with lots of rabid sue happy lawyers. If you have some original music that you created yourself, or have the documented permission from the copyright holder, Or is documented to be in the public domain That is acceptable. What about remixes or parodies? For instance would a mix like this be acceptable since it's not actually the original song? What about nightcore that are sped up versions? How does this apply to music from other countries such as stuff like Supercell's Miku remixes or Anime OP's? What about ? Do the mods listen to every song on every station to make sure no copyrighted music is being played or is the user only banned if it's reported? Is it a lifetime ban where you can be banned forever even if you didn't have prior knowledge of this rule? jeriam
Well, that wasn't really my idea anyway. I would like to create a radio station's "frame", which could appear as a new station ingame, and only plays music that you have on your computer, from a selected folder. No music uploaded, thus no tricky copyright to skirt; it would be up the the user to provide the music files in a legal way... of course. Would that be an acceptable solution? I'm willing to work on that, except that, as mentioned in a different place on the forums a couple of hours ago, I don't know nuthin' 'bout muddin'. That would be a great solution and if it is ever possible, it won't most likely happen without assist of the toolkit. Otherwise, people can do like I tend to do in games... I use my Ipad that powers separate speakers that are decent, and play whatever I want that way via whatever tools one can use on IOS, ORin background on my gaming rig via a application like VLC (Video Lan Client) to play a massive metric s#*! ton of mp3 collections I have, legit or otherwise. In practice it is a more satisfactory method for me as I can both monitor say, some beacon station in game, and play musacvia means stated above, or talk radio if I want to listen to Rush Limbaugh or whatever on 'wasteland memories' tapes (RP it)
