DukeEdwardI
I recently hooked up my desktop to the TV in my room temporarily. I booted up NV and to my annoyance, the framerate had gone from a buttery smooth 60-100fps indoors to <20fps. Now, the monitor I was hooked up to before was 1440x900 and the TV is 1920x1080. I obviously expected some performance loss, but nothing this drastic. Even after lowering all the settings to the absolute minimum, I still only get around 20fps. Even at 1366x768. I'm at a complete loss what the problem could be. Some issue with the HDMI connection? (TV doesn't have DVI, only VGA). Oh, and to make matters worse, I'm getting some weird dialogue bug where the NPC's dialogue will flash for a split second and then skip right to the dialogue tree. Not sure what the deal is with that. My game is only slightly modded. About 25 mods including NVSE, Stutter Remover, the 4GB exe. Specs are: i5 750 2.67ghz, AMD 6950 1GB, 8GB DDR3 RAM, Windows 7 64-bit
2much4l1
Maybe a vsync problem? Don't know about AMD, but with my NVIDIA card I had to make sure my TV was set to be the primary monitor so that vsync and other apps would work.
DukeEdwardI
I figured it out. It wasn't anything to do with vsync or refresh rate or any of that. Since I was connected via an HDMI cable, my GPU was trying to send the video AND audio through to the TV, severely affecting performance. I just disabled my GPU's HDMI audio output and that did the trick.
