Hey there,

i wanted to install some mods, but Nexusmod says i need to change some strings in the fallout.ini

Problem is, i dont have the .ini data. i only have the fallout4pref data.

the game ist installed over steam but on a seperated hard drive, but theres no windows installed. games run smoothly even without it, so i never thought that would be a problem.

could someone upload a original fallout4.ini data? or could give me a advise how i can solve that problem?

Go into Windows folder options and set "Show hidden files". fallout4.ini should be there now.

Just right click the file & go to properties and uncheck hidden.

This worked for me.

You could always use the Fallout4ConfigTool (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/?).
This will give you lots of options to edit your .inis while keeping the files read-only (so the launcher doesnt resets any changes).
There is one option that add the complete line of mod folders to your fallout4.ini.

that worked for me. i dont quite understand why the .ini file is in there, even that i installed it on a seperated harddrive.

but yeah, now i can install the Mods over the Nexusmodmanager.

thanks for all your help
