It happens totally randomly. Maybe it's because I have many high quality textures? No crashes at all, just freezes.
WastelandLoner
Have you tried the Large Address Aware Enabler by NMC? I used to experience random freezes as well and I think it was down to all the new textures packs I used. After using this mod I have never had a single freeze.Hope this helps. Matt714
Yes, I already have this.
M48A5
Total active plugins: 138 Total plugins: 138 Too many plugins with HD textures. You need to reduce your load list. Also, the FOOK 2 Hotfix should each go immediately below the file they are fixing.
Matt714
Doubt it's the number of mods, XP compatibility seems to have decreased their frequency by a lot. The STEP guide has way more mods than I do, and it is reportedly rather stable. http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Kelmych/Fallout3
Matt714
Found the culprit, it's FOSE. I had applied the 4GB fix to it, as well than Fallout3.exe. You only need to apply it to the latter, otherwise it creates memory leaks.
CarlCorey
Interesting. I've been running with a 4GB patched fose_loader.exe for a while now and it's only once just frozen without a CTD. That was in the Old Olney S. Wilson Building with all the Tesla Coil things going on so I blamed it on graphics overload. How long of a session does it take for you for the freezes to start? Matt714
Maybe 5-10 minutes? Depends of the place. Megaton for example is crash free. I have many texture mods, though; and many background processes.
Matt714
Disregard everything I said, it's actually a VRAM issue. I had too many HD mods installed, coupled with mods. Even if I have a GTX 980. The following program saved my life: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/17594/?
