Question about copyrights

Oh, no doubt, there are ways to get around it....my point was just that he could use it for himself (in a single player game) and could easily get away with it, without all of the fuss. I don't agree with a lot of the onerous copyright laws, but I also get why Nexus has to be careful. I get both points of few.

i think all of the copyright laws are quite reasonable. the owners though are a pain in the rear to work with because of their lawyers. your point though is quite good and in my opinion makes sense. i really dont see the point arguing with people about laws we have to follow just because someone (the OP) doesnt like it.

And its attitudes like that that will lead to copyrights lasting 100 years after the original creator's death. Not even being sarcastic, they tried / are trying to pull s*** like that.

Copyright as it stands is unreasonable. Too many good things have been shut down and removed because of pointless copyrights. Too many innocent people have had their lives ruined by completely unreasonable copyrights.

The copyright is an aged, draconic model of ownership that does not expire nearly as soon as it should.

And then you have copyright trolls, people like Apple trying (and often times succeeding) to copyright very basic, universal concepts and methods, movie companies that go way overboard to "protect" their property, and people like you, who just roll over and accept the fact that even though Michael Jackson is dead, his music (even the stuff that's 30, 40 years old by now) will not become free use until after my death.

You should not be going "oh its fine its to protect the inventors" because most of the time its not even the people who created these things that own them, its one of the massive corporations that make their money off of the moans of people like you getting rear-ended and enjoying it, and completely financially destroying lives because that 10 dollar album that one guy pirated is clearly worth 100,000$ in compensation for having done "stolen" it.

Lastly, that candy bar stops existing when you take it and eat it. Digital property goes exactly nowhere and its been proven in very large, wide tests that fair use and relying on the good 'ole "my friends said its good" rather than overinflated prices helps the products in the end. In this case, hearing the theme to Terminator will make people who download it go "oh man that was an awesome movie i havent seen in forever" and then go and watch it, generating a few cents for the property holders.

It does not matter how you feel about copyrights and the use of copyright material. What does matter is the Terms of Service of this site.

As stated in the Terms of Service, that you agreed to, no one can upload copyright material without the copyright holder's permission. There is not debate. The file will be removed.

If you don't like it or will not abide by the rules of this site, it would be better if you were to move on before you are banned.

I'm aware of this.

I'm not arguing that anymore.

I just hate what copyright has turned into and the only way I can ever hope to make a difference is to argue against it whenever I can, even though I am so tired of it.

I have work to do and have enough anger generated for today, so responses from here on will be irregular.

yeah im with M48A5, move on. we dont care about your opinion on the matter. the law is there and you have to follow it, the TOS for this site are there so you have to follow it. so stop the childish insults and attempting to make me sound stupid for stating facts and continue on with your life.

If you don't care about my opinion on the matter, stop making me feel obligated to share it.

Honestly, I would have much preferred the mod going "yeah this is how it is" and zero other replies than going down this road for the 426th time.
