Stavaas
Hello all, this is my first post here on this forum :) Well, as you can see, I'm making a new city filled with quests. So far, I've created the walls to surround the city, a new round to lead up to it, and a map marker. The city's name is Aren, and will be a beautiful city with fountains and the buildings from Anvil. I will add alot of quests, and custom dialogue for them. If anyone has any requests or ideas for quests, please let me know, and I'll see what I can do :) Well, my problems so far are that the landscape craps up, and the city walls doesn't load until I'm close to them. Here you can see the walls aren't loading yet, and also, the trees aren't there when you get closer, and the landscape has been flattened. http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/9434/error1wo0.jpg Now, I've moved up to the walls and then used 'TFC' in the console to fly to the other side of the city walls, where you can see that the landscape doesn't load properly. http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4933/error2ps4.jpg Does anyone know how to make the models and landscape appear like they should no matter how far away you are? By the way, sorry for the error on the top left of the pics, no idea why it's there. Also, I was going to start making my city, on the insides of the walls, but I'm unable to create new cells or duplicate cells. Anyone know what could be wrong? -Andreas
Abramul
Did you use the 'Generate LOD Land Texture' yet? (I would assume want to use the 'This Cell' option, but I can't say for sure as I've never used it.) To create a cell, you need to open the 'Cell' menu under 'World'. You may want to create a new World Space for your city first. (Note: You might want to rescale images so as to avoid breaking pages. Personally, I like to use <= 320 * 240, as long as there aren't very small details. Not sure if there's an official guideline for page width.) Stavaas
Thanks for the answer Abramul, really appreciate it. I made a new World Space for my city, and made the doors functional, so I can go in and out of my city now. Going to see if I can manage to 'Generate LOD Land Texture' as well, although I've never used that option before. -Andreas

Stavaas
As of now, I'm well on my way to creating my new city, but I've run into a problem. I make map markers to fast travel to the three gates in my city, but when I place them in my new world, which is the city, they don't show up on the map over Tamriel. Then I put them outside of the gates, so I could fast travel via the map. After that I've tried using XMarkers on the inside of my new world/city to 'teleport' to from the map markers if you will. But I can't make them work. What happens is that I only teleport to the map markers, and not their respective XMarks on the inside of the city. Anyone care to help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? -Andreas
Stavaas
Thought I'd take some screens to show the progress I've made with the city. Been working on tis part for some hours now. C&C are very much welcome :) http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/2884/screenshot0vi2.jpg http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/1825/screenshot1jm8.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/2919/screenshot2ah3.jpg

This however can be a problem if your city wasn't built in the same cells within the worldspace as it is within Tamriel. This is why you usually do the entire exterior (minus all the fine details) of the city, within tamriel, create the worldspace, then move everything over to the right cells. You have to think of them as two parallel planes that share the same general terrain. If you place the walls at -5 ,12, but build your city at a 0,0 nothing will match up, landmarks included. Abramul
A sample working mapmarker: If you're already using the same settings, does it work if you start a new game?
21603
Stavaas that's actually a pretty nice job. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
