Fallout13245
Hi, thanks for reading my very first post :) My girlfriend has been attempting to play fallout 4 for weeks now, and has been through my assistance. However, she cannot play it on her own as being VI means she can't see far away enemies without my being there to point them out. Also, she finds it hard to tell how much health she has, and can't see the compass very well either. I was wondering whether some very kind hearted modder out there can, if possible, make it so that the HUD is bigger and to make enemies glow, kind of like Boones Spotter perk? Fallout13245
Actually, just had a thought. You know the highlight you get on containers when it contains a component you need? Would it be possible to bump up the range of that and stick it on enemy NPC's? I say this because she said afterwards that it was a significant improvement, though because she could see them through walls it was kinda like cheating (If we weren't cheating already ) and maybe, if it was possible and if you were willing, change the colour so she could differentiate between the containers and the enemies? Thanks so much for your help by the way :) Edited November 26, 2015 by Fallout13245

roamwild
If you haven't found someone else by now I'd be happy to lend my fresh and very limited ability toward enlarging / moving specific HUD elements. I managed to make a bunch of stuff smaller and hide it for myself, enlarging the health bar/compass would be easy and take just a few minutes give or take adjustment/feedback. Let me know of some specific placement ideas and what you need done. For reference, I posted my humble hacked-up HUD mod on the Nexus http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3861/? so anything that's been done there, I can do in reverse. EDIT: Check out rebb's "Pipware UI Fallout4 Edition". It has an XML you can use to scale and move specific elements in the HUD to your liking. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/388/? Fallout13245
Sorry to everyone, I've been on holiday over christmas and new years and haven't had any wifi. Damn you wales! Enlarging the HUD would be perfect, as she finds keeping track of her health and AP a bit of a hassle. Also the words in the inventory are a little small, maybe make them slightly bigger? Around the size of the font when you zoom in the pipboy. Also doing what you linked in the Pipware UI mod you linked where he stretched the menu would add a bit of user friendliness :smile:Also if it's possible, outlining the HP and AP bar with a solid colour would be amazing, though she can do without. I managed to botch together a mod that made NPC's glow red and blue (Hostile and friendly, respectively) and it has been working pretty well except from the occasional glitch.I did that by borrowing someone elses mod which did the same thing to glasses, and applying it to the wedding ring.Link to mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2498/? Thank you to everyone that has replied and tried to help and if it's been too long since I last posted no worries, i won't be offended  Edit: Also making the glowing effect of containers that have components in apply to every container, just in a different colour would also be amazing :) Edited January 20, 2016 by Fallout13245
NikitaDarkstar
Sorry for butting in and potentially not knowing what the heck I'm talking about, I'm a very new modder myself. Anyway I don't think much can be done about the text size? From what I've read from modders who have changed the pip-boy UI that's sort of fixed (basically the text needs to fit in a fixed space and the game scales it accordingly, if you get to many letters in that space it starts shrinking the font), but it's possible someone knows how to work around it? If you haven't played with it already a lot of the HUD colors can be changed under settings, and I'm fairly certain the item highlighting etc. is changeable in there too. At the very least playing around with the colors might find some settings that makes it easier for your girlfriend to read certain elements of the game and interface? Also, if you haven't already it might be worth looking into various ENB's (assuming you can run them) and see if any of those might change things up enough to make it easier on her (possibly with a texture mod along the lines of a A little Bit of Green? It breaks up all the browns a bit without going overboard with cluttering things up with foliage and tons of grass and stuff). Anyway I know that was somewhat off-topic and possibly completely irrelevant. If nothing else I wish you and your girlfriend luck with getting the game set up to where she can play it comfortably. tomomi1922
Hope someone didn't cover this already.http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4314/?This mod changes targeting system entirely. Enemy will be hilighted RED (with different options you can choose) and friendly BLUE. I think this is exactly what you are asking for. About HUD, it is very possible. I have seen HUD mods that migrates the HP and compass UI to different part of the screen, changes the font size and type , usually smaller, fixes up the crosshair. It is not popular for people to try to make bigger font size, but this shows it can be done.
