Percephere
I'm new to the whole fomod thing (I literally started today) and I was wondering if fomod installers work alright in NMM for Fallout 4. I'm trying to format an installer for one of my mods, but I'm still trying to get the hang of it. I've wrapped by head around the concept pretty well, I'm just not familiar with it enough to know I'm doing it correctly. Any suggestions or pointers are welcome. ShinraStrife
They work just fine in FO4. I have a tutorial in my signature and if you have any questions or want me to test out your installer before uploading it I'd be happy to.
Percephere
Thanks, I've been looking through some how-to's. Edit: I've figured it all out now. Thanks for the help, that guide helped out a ton! Edited November 28, 2015 by Percephere
Khormin
Glad you've got it figured. I keep getting "NameError"s with mine. Bah.
Percephere
Want any help? I feel like an expert having two FO4 mods now that execute the FOMod installers quite well, if I may say so myself.
skrilly01
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39434/? Even though it's for skyrim, it all works exactly the same! I used this to build the fomod for my mod, and I can not reccomend it enough!
Percephere
I read over that one, but it didn't quite have enough details for me. Shinra's tutorial is what helped me the most. Guess its just depends on who's reading it. I do like how that one you linked has an example file, though.

When I re-read my tutorial I find it kind of monotonous because I have been using markup languages since I was 9 years old. But I didn't make it for people who knew their way around XML. I made it for people new to the concept that want step by step explanation of both XML structure, and how each tag is read by NMM.
Percephere
Precisely. One thing at a time. Instead of taking the whole cake, maybe finish the piece you've already started on. Being orderly is far too undervalued nowadays. Edited November 30, 2015 by Percephere
