[FO4] Urgent: Need help figuring out whats making all my textures super friggin shiny!

I'll post a video here in a second. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to decrease the shimmering/specularity of my files! It seems really friggin drastic!

 

Didn't someone on the FO4 Mod Talk forums have this same issue when editing some Diamond City signs? It seems Bethesda went a little overboard with the specular maps.

It's a fallout forum, you mean which fallout, does it matter? Put a environment map on it that is all black. Though I don't think Nifscope alpha works with that stuff, materials for sure if it's FO4, an that means it's got specular maps _s meant to metalize items. Example might help. Best of Luck

 

*edit* Saw textures set in the first few blocks in nifscope no geometry there, but paths to textures for normal, specular, an unknown, LOL.

Here is the textures I'm working with. The Diffuse map looks great in photoshop. I _think_ the normal map and specular maps are correct but...

s*** happens.

 

When I load up the game, it just looks....lower quality? I dunno. Take a look. The colors are off. Its basically ignoring whatever I put as the diffuse map and saying whatevs to any dirt or grime I added.

 

And sorry for the really terrible topic. I figured it out...sorta....right after posting.

There are very dark speculars in the game, which I'm guessing is playing the part of a high detail enviroment mask for the asset due to the increase in lighting, just darken specular to the color of burnt toast ??? , LOL

Yeah it feels that way o.O

 

I also can't figure out why textures, when you look at them in WTV or photoshop or what say you, can be super detailed, 4k, but when you load it into the game it looks like wet ass.
