Uhm..
I'd like to ask, if there's any chance of someone making a...
how do I say it...?
like... a wereable pipboy 3000, but.... that's just to appear in my arm, without actually using It for the menu
becasue I use the Readius mod, and I would like to keep the readius usable, but at the same time have a pipboy 3000 on my arm

is there any chance of doing something like that?
and, my main language isn't english, so, sorry if i wrote something wrong

thanks in advance

I made one for an NPC a while back so that I could equip and unequip it for the NPC. There's an NPC pipboy in the GECK. All you need to do is copy that item and change your copy so that it doesn't take up the pipboy slot (pick a clothing slot that you don't plan on using for something else). Then either the player or an NPC can use it as just another clothing item. You don't even need to extract the mesh and do anything with it.

You might have issues on long sleeve clothing, as this clothing often has a pipboy equipped sleeve and a non-pipboy equipped sleeve and it's not going to recognize your pipboy as a pipboy.

There's a player pipboy and an npc pipboy. If you take the npc pipboy and assign it to another slot then it becomes just another article of clothing, which should be wearable by the player or an NPC.

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong. I'll play around with it tonight.

When I did what I thought would work, it didn't show up, exactly as Jokerine said. If I took the npc pipboy and made it playable but kept it assigned to the pipboy slot, it worked for equipping and un-equipping on an NPC, but wouldn't equip on the player.

I thought I could fix it in nifskope, but the nif isn't based on SceneRoot like a normal article of clothing. Changing the name to SceneRoot made the pipboy visible, but now it's sticking up out of the top of the player's head. I was hoping to avoid the extra work of devinpatterson's method, but it looks like that's what is required here.

Thanks for looking into it Madmongo, I appreciate it.

So for the OP; I have never used readius, but since it's a pipboy replacer it doesn't trip the pipboy:on node, otherwise everyone's forearm would be horribly gimped. The nodes thre to prevent clipping of the pipboy and outfits that have big forearms. In your case you need that, or some outfits like power armor are going to clip through your fake pipboy.

So I can fix up the fake pipboy, but I probably should have some idea how the readius works so that we can hijack it to trigger that node (or some other way) otherwise your not going to be happy with the results (I imagine). Unfortunately I can't promise I'll have time to look into that part of the mod.

I'll try to get the fake rigged up for you soon though (maybe tonight).
