drdragent Posted November 30, 2015 Share Posted November 30, 2015 I wanted to mod skyrim in such a way so that I could play it for ages without having to restart. With that being said, I wanted the game to be slightly more challenging, but also full of interesting quests, places and possibilities. I used MO for the first time and I got a bit confused as SKSE hasn't seem created it's config file anywhere so I don't know how to increase the heap size (That's what I suspect is causing the crash) Also, when it comes to using ASIS and PatchusMaximus, I used some instructions from https://www.reddit.com/r/PerkusMaximus/comments/2mftyt/guide_running_pama_through_mod_organizer/ and it seemed to load up over 80 plugins, which approximately how many I have. I went the nexus pages of all of the mods that I have installed but it doesn't seem like I have any incompatibilities, and if I do, I have installed the patches. I used MO to sort out my load order (It says it used LOOT) so the load order is not really nice.... but should work. LeddBate Posted December 2, 2015 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Also, I have found (at least in my play-throughs) that starting in Helgen (i.e. the prisoner cart ride-in onwards) with loads of mods activated from the very beginning leads to multiple crashes. Through trial and error (and a hefty dose of advice from GrandBulwark's Skyrim Project Stability) I have found that activating only the basic-most mods at first (e.g. SkyUI, etc.) then adding the rest in short waves after escaping Helgen leads to a much more stable game.
