Marcus Wolfe
HMPH. I can't Believe nobody's checked this post out so in long. Well, here goes:It seems that nobody is interested anymore, but it's still important that all Samurai fights be either:1 on 1 duels orEPIC WARFAREseriously, I'd like to see epic warfare in Oblivion, regardless of whether Samurai are involved or not.Y'know, sieges n stuff. We cannot add new animations as everyone will have them.Sieges would be impossible as well. For instance, the siege weapons would require a whole new set of animations, buildings and walls would need to be destroyed, but the problem is, the cities are in a different cell. Also, most importantly, Oblivion's engine couldn't handle a siege. If you really want a siege, go play an rts game. Two Thrones is a good game. It's an rts that takes place during the times of the Hundred Years War (lasting 116 years) and the Wars of the Roses, and it has real sieges!
Marcus Wolfe
Yeah, sieges aren't hard to find in the RTS world. When I play AOE III Warchiefs, ramming my opponent's base (with rams) while shelling it with canon fire with my Tomahawk warriors killing everything in sight always seems to be a fitting end. But sometimes, I want to be that Tomahawk warrior killing people, or the ram or the canon. I want to be a participant in the siege, not just the co-ordinator of it. I hear there's an RTS by the name of Warfront: Turning Point that lets you do something like that. I can jump into the turret of a tank or something and go all FPS for more damage. I guess I should stop asking for sieges in Oblivion and just buy Warfront.

The basis of the game is sieges. I should check out that Warfront...
Hsandman_1
Problem would not be as much to create nwn2 (small spoiler for that game follow and OB spoiler..) type siege atack on stronghold for oblivion, but what it does for a fps... the fighting deadra in IC was real murder on my fps... now if its for keep that is outside and not its own world then that would decrease fps more...In future i belive there will be few of these big mods out, by that time lots of ppl will be able to play OB at decent fps rate with a good size army atacking/defending a keep in full Oblivion splendour. 8)
mgsmaster009
I Think I Have A Solution For Your Animation Problem, Try MAO- Mayu's Animation OverhaulIt Makes All Modded Animations Work On The Player Only, I Haven't Tried It For Myself So I Don't Know If It Works Properly. But If Someone Was Able To Script It To Work After Some Sort Of "Training" In-Game You Would Be Able To Use Your Cool Samurai And Ninja Moves (Speaking If Someone Has Made Them For You Of Course) While Not Seeing A Lowlife Bandit Doing The Same To You. Hope It Helps :)
Jinxxed0
I'd just like to state that the first ninja was from China (not japan) and he/she was a a cross dresser. Back on topic though.Tou be a ninja, you just need Deadly Reflex and the DMC animations. For a samurai you could just have the animations and have everyone be a samurai, over haul all the armors and building. And have non-japanese samurai everywhere (unless you changed the NPCs race.) An asian style TES is something I'd love to see and kinda hope the next TES will be. But I'm 99.9% sure they'll stick with the generic medival set up. I'd like one that wasn't specifically japanese inspired, but martial arts inspired. You'd still have your heavey armored swords man, you'd still have archers, and plenty of magic users (taoist and such). But then you have monks (simular to the chinese shaolin monks) of the Sohei (not sure if thats spelled right, but those are the japanese monks, i believe). Then you'd have samurai, fantasy ninjas, wushu-like swordsmen ect. Maybe someday there will be a videogame like this. Its just too bad that the Way of the Samurai games weren't gigantic and free roam. Seems like there some be a futile japan free roam game out there by now. Or a fantasy world so that the chinese martial arts can be mixed in as well as the korean, indian, ect. Expecting it from the TES devs or modders probably doesnt make an sense though. Germandeathkittiez
Animations? Search these: DMC Stylish Dual Wield Stance Sinpoints Martial Arts (For Hand to Hand) Amazing Jump Seph True Acrobatics These all have cool, flashy, or ninja-esce animations. Apparently things beyond this would require much more work. The recent Unnecessary Violence combines all the greatest attack/ sword animation mods into one I believe including Deadly Reflex.
