So i did this, but my loads are crashing.

So i did this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4227/?

Basically .50-Cal conversion of the Minigun in addition of being a Tri-Barrel. It also deals a humongous amount of damage; from +25% to +500% of damage, and 65% armor penetration, after all we're wasting away .50-Cal ammo here. It also has +35% Recoil since there is a -35% rate of fire, to make it seem to have simmilar recoil.

However, i came across this constant problem. I checked on it, it works beautifully, the ammo changes, the damage increases, and probably the 65% armor penetration, not sure because i can't tell the difference.

But then future loads of my save, it constantly crashes seconds after i get to the main menu. I unload all of my mod, see to it that the game loads carefully. I load my save once more, and it works. But then the next time, it crashes seconds on the main menu once more, and i have to do that mod restart all over again.

Any idea why? (Yes, i know that it's because of my mod. But is there any thing i could do to fix it... without having to disable the mod with it's features?)

Alright, so to double-check;

  • This is a fresh, clean save?
  • You are getting the crash only when you're running your mod?
  • You are getting the crash a few minutes after starting to play?

- I don't know how to respond to that. If "Fresh" meaning, it doesn't have any mod, no. Though it works fine with the rest of my mod, just not this one. At least probably this one, i already added a new mod tweaks of the same essence, so those new modified weapon mods may be doing the same thing.

- Yes and no. It works once, but if i reload the saved game, i have to unload all of my mods, run fallout 4 to confirm that it is working, and reload all mods and it will work again, once. And then i have to do rinse and repeat by unloading the mods, confirming that FO4 runs, and it will work once again.

- Nope, i just get in the main menu, it happens immediately in seconds. If i'm fast enough, i could start loading my saved-game, but it will crash immediately upon trying.

Given what you've described, I have the following step to trouble-shoot.

  1. Unload one mod at a time, working backwards in load order, until the problem no longer occurs.
  2. Load the mods that are after the one "likely causing fault" until you complete your intended list.
  3. Is it indeed your mod causing the crash?

If it is indeed your mod, and your mod alone causing the crash, I'll open it into xEdit and see if I can see what it could be.

Make sure that all the records you copied from Fallout.esm into your mod were actually changed. If you leave some records un-edited it leads to crashes(at least for me).

A 'dirty edit' could cause it, but ITM are unlikely to cause a crash; far more likely to break other mods dependent on the records you're changing back.

For example; if you have the Combat Shotgun loaded into the list, you'll find an unexpected conflict with my Immersive Weapon Names mod, or with AmmoTweaks.

Having had a minute, I've quickly opened your mod with xEdit.

First. you have your mod (as you described), giving large changes to the barrel. You also have a level list. What is that for, may I ask?

Secondly, seems to work fine so far when I load it from here?

Thirdly, if I may make a further troubleshooting suggestion:

  1. Unload all mods
  2. Start a new game
  3. Save said game with no mods loaded.

This is called a "clean" save. If you'd rather, you can do so with your currently-loaded save, but be warned that this can potentially cause issues with some mods.

Yeah okay.

The Leveled Item list is to change the ammo that spawns with NPC wielding the triple-barrel .50 cal mod. I don't know if it's specifically the mod.

I loaded a clean save, and then that specific mod alone, and it works pretty well. Perhaps my PC is just unable to load lots of mod at the same time?
