Valykry
INITIALLY, I thought of the player having an item such as a recon drone. Small R/C type plane that flies overhead and places a "PIP" mark over any enemies it spots. BUT given that this would be something that would be near impossible to make in the post apocalyptic wasteland, Having companions act as spotters would be a more realistic close second. Anyway, any enemies your companion sees/locates gets a mark above their head in much the same way as what already happens when you use certain scopes. It would essentially be the same as your companion telling you "Hey, there's a raider right there, behind that dumpster.", only instead of having to look behind all 50 dumpsters yourself, a little red diamond appears over their head. Anyone agree?
Basil456
Agreed. This is something they should have already had in the game itself. Yes Dogmeat "finds" enemies, but he never really spots them, more hears them. Plus this would make it easier to find enemies that are up high or lower than you while there shooting you and you not knowing where they are and falling dead. Valykry
And besides, Ordinarily, companions tend to just get in the way. This would give players a real reason to want one following you around. And if you want to get more realistic, Perhaps disable their ability to "Spot" enemies for you while they are being engaged in combat, except for maybe the current enemy they are shooting at. I'll give ALL the cookies to whoever makes this!'Course, maybe this is one of those things that will require the G.E.C.K., which of course isn't out yet... Edited December 4, 2015 by Valykry

Athanasa
It'd be nice. Most of my game is spent with Danse commenting, "I don't think we're alone." and "I think we're being stalked." as I snipe enemies heads off from a block away. Or, worse, telling me I need to stop wasting ammo shooting at nothing. If he could actually DO something rather than just sit there doubting the existence of enemies, that'd be great. Flyzakifm
i would love this... i mostly snipe everything before moving in and i keep missing one raider or another. also if we could cuztomize (through talk) the companions tactics a bit... they spot for you when hidden or in cautious but when in danger they will start shooting and keep melee attackers away from you (by possibly shoving them and getting their attention from a short to medium while) while you snipe the further away enemies...(having them help diferently based on the kinda weapon we are carrying would be cool... sniper or shotgun etc...but im guessing thats a stretch maybe)
